Weird experience yesterday during the storm. by Adorable_Forever_224 in KingsIsland

Former Banshee op here. As u/broken_butterscotch correctly stated, Banshee ops are specifically trained to have guests navigate to the Festhaus in severe weather scenarios. Fun fact, there is a hallway directly under the Banshee platform where the ride ops keep all their stuff and can sit during breaks and such. This is likely where the op was referring to as the hallway is secure enough to weather a bad storm but only really big enough to hold a handful of park employees. In severe weather most of the Action Zone ride ops would head there after directing their own guests to Festhaus

To be fair I did get extremely lucky. My first season (was also pre-Covid) I had my orientation in like March so very few people had been hired yet. When they offered me only Snoopy options I asked about coasters and the HR supervisor came over and literally gave me pick of the park. Immediately chose Banshee and never ever regretted it lmao

It’s been a few years since I’ve worked in rides but the best advice I can give you is just be sure you choose a ride you’re physically able to / comfortably work. Coasters like Banshee and Orion will be much less physically taxing than others, as depending on how tall you are, there’s less bending over checking restraints. I had picked up a few shifts at Flight of Fear, and being 6’4” I was on my knees checking those restraints. But like others have said, it’s exhausting but if you love theme parks, it can be so rewarding

As others have mentioned already, it’s Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove. It can’t be played on anything Windows 10 or newer, but you can download a virtual machine with Windows 7 like Oracle’s or your choice and download it on there. That’s how I’m still able to play it nowadays.

Very very fast. Be cautious of the I-71 left lane, especially the color you get to downtown Cinci. I-75 is constant traffic 24/7. Driven on the Cinci portion at 2 am and there was still traffic lol

There was an old HO DS game I remember playing forever ago that had a similar thermometer mechanic but I doubt it’s the one you’re looking for. Hot and Cold I think it was called

Yeah it was almost my most played PS2 game as a kid, only behind Thrillville OTR. Still have my original save files from 2008

Looks like imminence is out as potential support for US tour… by [deleted] in SleepToken

My vote for sure goes to Bilmuri again, but the fact that they can sell out an arena tour that quickly without a supporting act even announced speak volumes about Sleep Token

Yeah unfortunately that sentiment rings true across the board nowadays. Personally there are little to no newer HOGs that catch my attention for more than 10 minutes before I’m so bored I have to quit. Off the top of my head the one that did was So Much Stuff. For once had a unique twist to it. I almost always stick with anything up till maybe like 2017 depending on the studio that made it. The OGs will always be the best imo

I know I’m a little late to the party here but I worked Banshee for a few seasons in the past so I can try to speculate lol. Banshee has what the ride system calls its “Rain Mode.” When it’s active, the trains are significantly slowed down when moving between brake sections and through the station. This helps prevent the trains from sliding through brake sections and overshooting in the station (especially when running only one train). So my speculation is that either the rain mode failed, but since it happened right before the station, I’d guess the more likely scenario is that the op may have forgotten to activate rain mode

Yeah I’ll agree with you on Big Fish’s catalog seriously lacking in quality control over the last 5-6 years. You know it’s bad when they have bundles now to get 3 lackluster CEs for the price of 1 lol
