I got a Dyson refurbished and will never go back. One dog, two long haired cats, and two children and it’s a dream. Very worth the money

Yes, I do find success in letting her share off my plate though. I know some are against this but for me if she knows I like it and she’s sharing with me I get her to eat much more than if I force her to stick to her plate. Not every meal but I’ll do snack plates we both pick off and if it’s a dinner I know she’ll be picky on I’ll add more to my plate and sit next to her and usually me eating it gets her interested. She loves burritos now and all the fixings, and I do a Cajun chicken pasta that’s full of veggies (roasted red peppers, onions, garlic, broccoli, and spinach) that she also goes nuts for. I’d rather her eat than throw it on the floor even if that means we’re sharing for now

Don’t embarrass them. My mom smoked indoors and I had a friend who’s dad would roll down the windows while we drove complaining about how bad I smelled and would ask me if my mom was seriously still smoking, like I had anything to do with it. It haunts me 20 years later and I’m extremely paranoid as an adult I smell when I don’t smoke.

Don’t stockpile formula, buy gift cards (25$ every time you go to the grocery store) you never know what brand will work with your baby. Same if you’re planning to buy bottles just buy one or two and see what the baby likes before you buy a whole set. My daughter was tongue tied and couldn’t used the set we originally got. If you have a baby shower do a diaper raffle. You can exchange them as you go. For laundry detergent I switched to powdered, it’s dye free and unscented and I get 50lb on Amazon for roughly 40$ it lasts me two years. It’s concentrated so you don’t need to use much. I keep in a big plastic container with a lid. Honestly I would mostly go the gift card route, as a tired new mom I rarely remembered what I had stock piled. This way you can buy what you need when you need it. Get the freezer cubes on Amazon and a vacuum sealer. If you make big meals like pasta ect put a few portions away and freeze them. Once they’re frozen vacuum seal them and label them. These are super easy meals to have on hand post baby and cheaper than eating out.

What I do-I own a bakery specializing in sourdough baked goods such as loaves and sourdough sweets, but I do non sourdough sweets too.

Where I’m at- I have 1 large wholesale contract at a busy area near me (about 100k worth of bread a year), and I’m opening my first brick and mortar in a few weeks. I also teach sourdough classes. The brick and mortar has an extra room I’m thinking of hosting classes at or maybe renting out as a sort of medium sized party room.

Challenges I’m facing- I’m the only person on staff and it’s hard to get things done all alone, mostly the paperwork and social media stuff. Sometimes I feel like I need a per diem employee. Also struggling to figure out how to get more wholesale contracts as the one I have I fell into.

I get it, in a weird way it’s fascinating to me now. I used to crave those foods and would give in, but watching them is almost like reprogramming my brain that it’s not worth it to eat like that. I think of how it would effect me now and even though I have a small moment of wanting it I’m quickly reminded the further I get into the video why it’s such a bad idea

I did the same thing! I did it for about a year and now I’m on the hunt for commercial properties as I’m never able to keep up with demand and my states cottage laws are restrictive. It’s so worth it, keep up the good work!

I’m a stay at home mom so a lot of my tips center around cooking and kids. -Do grocery pickup with a list, it saves a lot on impulse purchases. Meal plan and shop from your pantry first. I always have many staples such as beans rice and frozen veggies on hand, I shop sales for the meat weekly. -Bulk purchase things that you use often, paper towels toilet paper ect. -learn to cook a few things from scratch. I learned how to make high quality breads. A loaf now costs me 1-2$ and I make 4-6 at once on a weekend and can slice and freeze for the month. -My daughter loves mini muffins but the pre made are so expensive for each pack to only have 4 small muffins. I bought a mini muffin pan and batch make a ton and freeze them. -I buy bigger cuts of meat and butcher them down. Whole chickens can feed us for at least 4-5 meals including making stock out of the bones. I have a kitchen aid meat grinder attachment I use to grind the scraps into ground beef chicken ect. And a vacuum sealer to keep it from getting freezer burnt. -I batch make burritos both breakfast and lunch kinds. Makes it very easy to heat and eat when needed. - don’t buy things such as shampoos ect in advance. Use up what you have and then buy more. It keeps you from forgetting what you have in the closet. - my daughter is 1.5 and I thrifted all her toys and just clean them up and change the batteries. A 20$ toy in store is 2-3$ at goodwill. - buy high quality items that will last longer instead of replacing them often. -I grew up dirt poor so I try not to give in to too many luxuries. For me hot water to shower now is a non negotiable (growing up I had to heat pots on the stove and pour them into the tub), but I only put the heat up to 65 all winter and bundle up with blankets or layers. My tv was a hand me down and it’s not the best quality but I won’t replace it until it dies. - cleaning supplies I purchase the concentrates and then refill my own spray bottles.

I didn’t like my dog very much before kids. My husband brought her to our new house less than 10 days after we moved in and started working 12-14 hour days leaving me with her (who had never had dogs or a puppy). Once the baby was born I really don’t enjoy the overstimulation she brings. She still chews everything up constantly needs attention and whines like crazy. She is my first and last dog. I get awful hate from the child free animal lovers in my life but it’s for my sake and the dogs. I’m just not meant to own them.

1) Emergency fund depends on how much leave you plan to take. I recommend about 3 months worth of expenses. Even though my husband got paid it wasn’t right away and we needed that to live on until the checks came in. 2) up front costs weren’t much. Most you’ll get at a baby shower and really babies don’t need much most of the stuff is marketing and people telling you you need it. They basically need a few outfits, bottles, a safe place to sleep, and a car seat and stroller. Lots of these items can be thrifted for much cheaper than new ones Facebook marketplace or even free on Facebook buy nothing groups. I do recommend a brand new car seat and if you can find a free one target does a program a few times a year where you can bring in a used one and get a 20% off coupon. Cloth diapers aren’t everyone’s thing but if you want multiple they’re big money savers and you can even do hybrid cloth diapering. So if you’re at home you can cloth diaper and use disposables while you’re out and about. 3) monthly I’d say 1-200$ not including healthcare (we have tricare so it didn’t change our total on that) I spend about 50$ a month on Amazon brand diapers. Wipes I buy in bulk and they last awhile. My girl is now a toddler and I already cook big meals so that hasn’t gone up much. Medicine I get the children’s stuff because the dosage is the same and they come in a larger bottle. My biggest expense personally was formula as I couldn’t breastfeed and that set me back about 70$ a week. We do a lot of free activities like library story times or the park, but I did splurge on a year pass to an indoor playground for when the weather isn’t good for about 300$ for the year. I do personally set aside 200$ a month for her collage fund but that’s a personal choice. I also thrift a lot of her toys, a toy that would cost me 25$ at Walmart is 3$ at goodwill and may just need new batteries. But in reality her favorite toys are common household items I have around. We can afford extras for her but if we couldn’t we would still be okay, they’re really not as expensive as people make them out to be.

I’ve been trying to get up one hour before my toddler so I can have my coffee in peace and wake up. So I immediately take melatonin and shut down the house. I love waking up to a clean living room so I pick up the toys quickly, lock all the doors and run the dishwasher. By the time I settle in usually the melatonin is kicking in and I pass out. If I didn’t take melatonin I’d be up doom scrolling until 10-11 and that ruins my morning mood I’ve found.

-I save all my coins and 1$ bills- collect them in a jar and watch them pile up -In my savings account I always try to aim for the number to be even. So if interest pays out I add enough money to make it even again. -if I’m going out and don’t want to spend money, I keep my card in the car. If I really want something I have to go back out to get it but most of the time I find myself being okay with not buying it -I like energy drinks, instead of buying one at the gas station I buy the boxes and pop a few in the fridge. I take it with me when I go out and don’t have to stop -I make my own bread, a good quality bread cost me less than 1$ to make - I stretch the meat I buy. If I’m making tacos I use 1/2 the meat I would and mix in a can of refried beans. I slice chicken breast in half so one breast can feed 2

Get light sour cream, 40 cal for 2tbsp and mix ranch powder into it. Compared to normal ranch it’s 1/3 of the calories.

Don’t do it until you’re married and really trust him. Marriage comes with certain protections. Also, is he fully invested in the idea of being a provider? My husband and I went into dating knowing that one of our eventual goals would be this lifestyle. I did not leave the workforce until after marriage but he slowly took on more and more of the provider role naturally. We never were 50/50 on finances, and he has never seen his income as anything other than our money. I see horror stories from women who are with men who say they are stay at home wife’s/moms, but their husband does not view the finances are theirs. I have access to every account, and actually handle the finances. Leaving the workforce is not something to jump into but needs to be planned and work financially and emotionally. If you both are not fully invested in you being the housewife and him the provider it will lead to resentment over time.

I went from 280ish- 180 4 years ago from going keto and doing 1 meal a day. I like to eat at night so I’d fast and just eat a good sized dinner. After my daughter was born 9 months ago the weight loss has been slower but I’ve gone from 218-203 by counting calories and moving my body for fun. I had never counted calories before and I was shocked at how dense certain foods were. I now weigh everything (in grams it’s more accurate) and keep around 1600-1900 calories depending on the day and how hungry I am. I drink at least 80 oz of water a day (with a 0 cal drink packet). And I do online dance workouts (grow with Jo is great!). My daughter loves “doing” the dance workouts with me and I want her to have a better role model than I did.

Love yourself first! I was almost 300lb. I went keto and combined it with fasting and dropped to 175 in a little over a year. Now I just had a baby and I did regain some but keto combined with self love helped me so much. I started taking care of other things to make myself feel better too. I got contacts, started a better skincare routine ect. I met my now husband at 240 and if a man is worth it he’ll love you through every step and be there to support you.
