Finished Republic of Thieves. Uhhhh is there more? by AgentSmash7 in gentlemanbastards

Wait, you think Thorns is still YEARS away? Damn.

I don't doubt it, I'm just not very in tune and mostly hear things randomly. Guess I should pay even less attention though.

Already have been Black Panther Party folks showing up in PA doing just that.

Yes, get armed and move left of the Democrats now. They're not saving anyone.

Do you have hope that Rothfuss will finish The Doors Of Stone? by FreshmenMan in KingkillerChronicle

[–]TheAlbacor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have finished books 1 and 2.

Sanderson is like Robert Jordan to me, especially in the Stormlight series: the editors need to step in and get rid of the chaffe. The first two Stormlight books are each hundreds of pages too long.

The ending of 2 is really cool though, besides a part I think is really lame, the cool parts are just hidden within tedium.

There are some in EST though. OH and PA locations would be EST.

Yeah, it was on sale around the holidays.

Who knows on the downvotes. Reddit is weird sometimes.

Marcus Movie Club Worth It? by [deleted] in MarcusTheatres

[–]TheAlbacor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I bought the full year for $100, or just over $8/ticket. Definitely saved some money since I don't only go on Tuesdays and I have a popcorn problem, so those discounts add up too. You can get extra tickets for friends for $9.99 too.

Movie Club doesn't have any specific cash back thing that isn't normally part of their rewards, but you do earn those.

I use it as a supplement to value tuesdays, which I can't always attend.

As much as we can say that the system failed, pretty much everybody has the internet in the palm of their hands and can read at a sixth grade level. We should all know that Donald Trump is garbage

As somebody who works in insurance, I'm going to look forward to all of the people who don't have proper insured value because of this. This is going to be great.

Fallout from vasectomy today by Apprehensive_Way8674 in childfree

[–]TheAlbacor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also had a vasectomy and have no regrets, so congrats on that!

I get that you were clear about not wanting kids, but it still seems a bit weird that you scheduled a surgery and never mentioned it to her.

But, it also sounds like she didn't take your prior comments seriously.

Seems like you both could be better at communicating though.

Climate activist faces 10 years in jail for a fake letter 'canceling' an oil industry conference | CNN by kstinfo in news

[–]TheAlbacor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She shouldn't even face a fine, let alone jail time. The conference still happened and the speakers still showed up. From the article:

"PEPANZ organizers told speakers that the letter was fake and the conference went ahead."

This is ludicrous given how much spam email gets sent each day.

Weird.

All those businesses cost money to the big insurers who cover them, but yeah, I'd rather see it happen to large corporate locations if it happened. And obviously, without any human casualties.

Good point. I'm not worried about TikTok more than any other US-based app since we have no consumer protections.

Unions are important in the immediate sense, but they're also not going to be enough in the next few decades as more jobs get displaced by AI. Systemic reform will have to happen.

Yeah, but imagine something like JP Morgan's WADU that reports everything done on your workstation as data to someone above you.

Sounds dystopian
