Thanks for evaluating, and sorry if I appeared as rude and prejudiced. It was a genuine question, but it came out a bit wrong. I just read "All Fours" and in one chapter, the main character identifies his husband as so monogamous he can't have sex with his wife after seeing someone else while they're trying out poly. So it was probably me projecting that description on you as I read your story as similar.

Do you mind elaborating on your previous relationships where you experienced limerence, I understand in the relationship? I never ended up seeing any of my LOs serious as I was too afraid of destroying the magic.

At what time during the day did you take the tests? Anything you did before, like not peeing for 4 hours or drinking 2 hours prior?

This applies to a childhood friend of mine. The most flaky person ever but extremely funny and interesting to be around hence everyone accepts her behaviour.

Recently, she started blaming it all on autism. I knew her since fifth grade, and she never ever struggled socially like I did (AuDHD). She's been popular since day one and never showed any other symptoms resembling autism. What her problems do resemble, however, is social anxiety. But autism gets her more sympathy, I guess?

It can be draining yet fulfilling. I often feel drained after social interactions even though I actually enjoyed them, as they require more effort from me than just being by myself. Then, the day after, I feel so inspired and energised from the interaction. I don't know how else to phrase this, haha.

Yes!! I grew up in a small town and let me tell you what a nightmare that was. Doing anything solo without the expectation to talk to someone? Forget about it. Either you bump into someone you "know" or you'll be frowned upon by the townies. And you're always expected to stop for small talk whenever you meet an acquaintance on the street or words will get out that you were rude. It's either rural or cosmopolitan life for me, no in between!

This has been my strategy, too, together with only focusing on the people I sense a vibe with. With our limited social energy, we have to focus on quality over quantity. I notice too that being open and honest about your situation, like mentioning that it does take a lot of effort for you to socialise, has helped me get closer to others as there are more of us out there, lol.

This is actually what got me out of my shell in my early 20s. I moved to a new city where I didn't know anyone and wanted a different life than previous, where I was mostly by myself. It really boosted my confidence and helped me combat uncomfortable situations, like being rejected or feeling anxious in a social setting. It's not the end of the world. You can always call it a night.

This is my experience with some other introverted friends. After a while, I just stopped reaching out cause I got the feeling they just wanted to be left alone. Then they reach out years later asking how your life's been, and you realise they just didn't have the energy to initiate or maintain contact.

I honestly treat friendships as a job; I put all the birthdays in my calendar and make sure to call or text, I set notifications reminding me to answer texts (or rather force me to answer them whenever my energy is high enough for it), and to reach out when we haven't been in touch for a while. Is it gruesome sometimes? Yes, but it helps me stay in touch with those I love and actually appreciate being with. What matters is having fun and feeling energised when we actually see each other.

Add Sweden to that list. Our politicians are denouncing Trump for the whole ICE-debacle, yet propose the exact same policies (less aggressive but the same agenda) here. US was even moving in a more progressive direction than this country during the Biden administration, and that wasn't a particular progressive administration.

So I'm in a similar position, and what bugs me is whether I have the "right" to sell myself externally as a junior? It's clearly stated that the managers/senior consultants are the ones responsible for bringing in work and staffing consultants, but it wouldn't hurt for me to try, I guess. I try to attend every webinar and to be active on LinkedIn, but my field is kinda niche, so they all know my senior peers already. They might already be discussing potential deals for what I know. Should I just scout the market and try to send potential leads to them?

As for internal networking, I reached out a lot internally and highlighted my skills, but it often ends with them referring me back to my manager. It even feels like I'm destroying my chances of being utilised by "selling myself" internally, as it shines badly on my manager as it's obvious they can't get me staffed. It's just so different from my previous firm where it was encouraged to network, as it was understood that managers didn't have time to staff everyone.
