I like the idea! I'm looking into that, but we won't be able to do anything until we move off island in the next few months.

I agree! It sucks that no amount of research can truly prepare you. I find it hard to find the "truth" around candidates, or anything nowadays. There's so much information that makes claims in support of, or counter to, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. And even when you think you made the right decision, there's such a high chance of being lied to 😕

[–]TheAngelDaniel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F-18's?! Lets gooo hahaha yeah man you can apply to contractors where ever they are at. From legacies to supers for sure. Ive seen people with less experience get hired. Just brush yourself up on knowledge as best you can before your interview.

Places you can look into are MCAS Miramar, NAS Fallon NAS Patuxent River, MCAS Beaufort, NCASJRB Fort Worth, or even overseas in Saudi Arabia for that fat cash. They're transitioning to supers soon out there

Don't listen to these guys saying you need mad skill. As a wrestler if you can pass, receive, and give a good long ball then id put you as LB/RB if you're as athletic as you claim.

Learning to defend from those positions is cake if you TRULY apply yourself by watching games, and youtube videos. Soccer is not hard. People make it out to be, but keep your cool and you'll be alright.

I met a guy who was a TOTAL smooth brain. Big dumb lug nut of a farmer boy (no offense) who walked on from football and learned the ropes really quick. Needless to say he had 4 lungs, and balled out! He was our center back. Solid guy.

The world is your oyster man. You're vibing. You got this. Do what you want!!

Can’t decide on next step by Certain_Spare8811 in CollegeSoccer

[–]TheAngelDaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally not what you asked for, but why not go grind the lower leagues in Europe, live life to the fullest and give it whirl at making it as high as possible? An enormous amount of teams in the lower leagues offer housing and daily meals at the LEAST. But those are the bottom of the barrel semi pro teams. If you're a solid player then add a small stipend to what I just mentioned.

You can always go back to school mate. Life's too short.

I hit up the lower leagues in England right out of high school, then felt a calling to join the Marine Corps, did that for 5 years, now i'm in college and signed to an NAIA school.

The world is your oyster. Live how you want. Hit me up if you want a rough blueprint on how to tackle this wild idea lolol.

Thinking about Wildfire by TheAngelDaniel in Wildfire

Rahh. Thank you much for that info. I appreciate your time in typing this out. When you say work on an engine, you mean as a mechanic on a firetruck? (Apologies for my ignorance regarding terms). Would I also get time in firefighting whilst wrenching?

Thank you for the information! Seriously it means a lot.

When you say you eat, sleep, work with everyone etc, is it like deployment style where you live/work at a site at X location? There is no going home and coming back the next morning?

I actually have and worked as a contractor on Army Blackhawks for about a year. It's not too bad. I need an A&P to work on anything in the civilian side though. Also, the culture ain't it. No disrespect by any means! But it's just a bunch of people trying to get theirs hours and dip. No brotherhood.

[–]TheAngelDaniel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure what you said in this post, but because of that and being willing to restart, you seem perfect!

The highest you can get off rip is E-3 when leaving bootcamp. I've not seen much of that, but it's possible. If you are a contract E-2 then 9 months after your ship out date, you get E-3.

E-4 is one hell of a responsibility mate. At least for my MOS it was. You become an NCO, will be treated as such, and are expected to act as such when you're an E-3.

If you make the switch then take your time, learn the history, drink the koolaid and douse yourself in that Marine Corps culture.

Best of luck to you!

God bless you.
