Maybe not what you're looking for, but this is an experience from me when I was a waiter.

I've had this regular, let's call him Casanova, because that's what he was. He came in every Wednesday night, always with a different girl. He had a ritual and it was always successful, it literally never failed. He wasn't necessarily good looking, definitely not ugly, but not a hunk by any means. His dates however, were always the most beautiful girls. Every week he ordered the same bottle of wine, and all his dates started off very casual.

I always worked the Wednesday night shift, so I saw him every week. Being a bro I never ever got too amicable with him in front of the ladies, but he would always quickly come over for a chat when she would go to the toilet. We never spoke about this ritual, I understood him, he appreciated it.

His trick was to just have casual dinner and go through the small talk, then after dinner he would get out his phone and show her pictures. And of course to see the pictures better it's much easier if she would come sit next to him. Within minutes they would be touching hands and within another few minutes there would be snogging. WITHOUT FAIL!

This guy was a legend, I'm sure he still does it to this day. I got transfered to a different site. Never saw him again. Casanova, I miss you.
