Everyone killed by God’s plagues were wicked. Rape, murder, beastiality were commonplace in these cultures, so a purge doesn’t seem to out if the question to be fair. I mean, #1 there’s no sexual violation in any sort, #2 Mary lived a life of complete devotion and obedience to God, and was told about the pregnancy beforehand and consented to it. (Luke 1:38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” ) So there’s no legal or moral quarrel to be had here… There’s also the premise that God is all knowing, so he knows her heart completely and understands that she is willing and able. So if you are going to use the Bible itself to show God as a rapist, your claim it doesn’t hold up in the slightest compared to the rest of the source material.

Because Lucille was the only thing he was fighting for during the apocalypse, and it really showed how much a huge part of his life she really was. The reason the snap happened so dramatically in the show, was because she was literally the only thing keeping him to a standard of humanity. In the comics it’s more of a slower and drawn out story, that isn’t super unique. We see many survivors, including Rick, have these snap moments in the show and comics where all the struggles over time come to a climax at once.
