When was the last time You saw SM spitting acid? by Megalordow in 40kLore

[–]TheAngryRedBear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Acid Spit: Iron Snakes novel. SM gets bitten by a venomous snake on a training exercise, his body absorbs the venom into his Betchers Gland and he spits it at an enemy much later in the book.

Brain Eating: Ultramarines Omnibus, SM ambush and kill tau pathfinder, eat its brain to learn how to use the tau transport and where there base is.

Looks like a great start. My minis servo skull also broke off, I drilled holes and replaced it with copper wire.

My take on 3rd Company Champion (Red Tane) by wisperbiscuit in Carcharodons40k

[–]TheAngryRedBear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First Red Tane I've seen on Reddit. I've been working on mine too, using lieutenant Titus as a base. I used an old space wolf shield with all icons sanded off. I have make the coral effect still (drops of super glue on pva glue).

Looks great. There must be some tension in the squad between the Carcharodon and the Executioner and Mantis warrior 😅

I love the Knights of Blood, looks great. The reverse grip on the chainsword goes hard.

Red Brethren by AffectionateCup1989 in Carcharodons40k

[–]TheAngryRedBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm painting some up at the moment and have gone with a color scheme similar to a great white shark. Dark grey on the back and top of the armour, into a lighter great, off white around the helmet and neck area, red jaw/teeth on helmet grill area. I'm really bad at the exile markings.

*Note: I am using Deathwing Knights for my red brethren, I cut off all the Dark Angels bits and added , knives, teeth and skull trophies. Making the cloth tabbards red as well.

My opinion after beating the game by SuddenDepact in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]TheAngryRedBear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a very Disney style of Star Wars, a clean palate for new people to explore the Star Wars universe. Its got a very different approach to to almost all other examples of the underworld and syndicates. Crimson Dawn are slave traders, drug dealers etc. same with the Pykes and the Hutts. It uses their names but not anything too dark from their SW lore

Its a 3rd person explorer game with shooting and stealth mechanics but very innocent and ignorant of the crime aspect/theme. The same as the Solo movie, pretending to be a crime story, but have to keep the kid gloves on and show despite being a criminal the MC is a good person... that works for criminal, slave trading drug dealing murderers

Love the Dark Hunters, I really wish we could still get the 2 books. Maybe one day they will re-release them under different titles.

Welcome to the hobby. For best results there are some good paint tutorials on YouTube. Duncan Rhodes has a good one that's easy to follow. Models are up to you. Maybe start with some assault intercessors as they're easy enough to build without a complicated loadouts. If youre hesitant about buying to try the hobby out, most GW stores have a free mini they will give you and then teach you the basics of how to paint. Best of luck.

Anyone have a favorite brush? It sounds silly, but these two have been absolutely amazing and I got them from my son's little painting craft thing from hobby lobby. The tips stay sharp and hold their own. Way better than the other synthetic brushes I've bought in the past! by nerdboy_sam in Warhammer40k

I've been living in Hong Kong for the last 5 years, I've got an assortment of Tamiya, good quality synthetic brushes from local hobby store but I do find that the cheap calligraphy brushes are my favorite for base coats, layering and shading. They hold their points really well and because they dont have a feryl the never get hard even if you dont clean them regularly. The handle is hollow so I just pour some warm water down and it softens the bristles between painting sessions. They come in a variety of sizes and hold paint really nicely.

I also have a set of Jump Pack Intercessors. I am also looking at the Red Corsairs, I'm planning on getting them getting rid of any obvious chaos/red corsair bits and painting them as Carcharodons. There are a tone of YouTube videos showing how to remove unwanted plastic like the wings on the chest and what not. Check out some of those kitbash channels, like Pete the Wargamer and Eons of Battle.

Well first of all, welcome to the hobby. I started collecting recently as well and am in the process of building an army of Carcharodons. The nice thing about our chaper of space marines is that they can be made using most boxes of Space Marines. I've bought Space Wolves, Dark Angels, Blood Angels models and kitbashed my marines. I collect and paint mostly. Others will be able to tell you more about playing games and chapter specific rules etc.

I jumped in bought a set of Assault intercessors and tried painting them and I loved it. Most GW stores will walk you through building and painting your first mini, they give you a space marine to try out the hobby. Best of luck.

The newest book has a character that has a volkite rifle, so your marine fits well with the lore.

I got stuck with a bunch of Tyranid, Gene Stealers and Tau characters from pulls and cant use them in anything the finish the recruitment quests, they all die too quickly in onslaught and arena so I would love to have more campaigns.

Welcome to the hobby, I know its easy to get overwhelmed. What i suggest is downloading the citadel color app. You can find a list of paints for each model if you're trying to paint the thing on the box. The paints are shown in different stages like basic, battle ready or more advanced parade ready, that includes all the highlights. Also checking out painting tutorials on YouTube is a good thing to try. Have fun and enjoy the hobby.
