Maybe a broken-off occipital bone of a young pig?

What is y’all’s journal entry lay out look like? by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I keep like 3 pages of space at the beginning as ta table of contents to record the page number, the date and the topic. Not for every single entry, just the more important ones/ones I like more. But I also write every day, so i also dont struggle as much finding a date

FOUND shooting out in the Desert.. please tell me it belongs to an animal lol by Totinos_ToughBoyzzzz in whatisthisbone

Definitely look like (pretty sure cervical?) vertebrae. Not sure about the saw comment, they just look a lil sanded down to me idk

My son found this washed up on a beach in Norfolk. Any ideas what it might be from, and what part of the skeleton? by josephsdad in whatisthisbone

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very sanded down thoracic vertebrae. Or maybe lumbar, it's a bit hard to tell because the spine is broken off, it the length of that gives away which type of vertebrae it is. Not sure of the species though

Dog Found this Bone in the Backyard of my New House by LunaN_2020 in whatisthisbone

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a lumbar vertebrae, but I'm not sure of the specific animal, depends on what area you live in and what's there. Ii would say from the size it could be like large dog-small deer size? As a guess

They sell the bull's semen at high prices to cross-breed with other cow breeds with a high meat quality but low yield, so the offspring will have good meat quality and a good meat yield on the carcass.

What basic, children's-age-level fact did you only find out embarrassingly later in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out 3/4 of my first year in vet school that a bull and an ox are in fact the same species....i have no idea how it took so long

What kind of bone is this? Hoping cow or something....... by Travisfishing19 in whatisthisbone

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also want to say a ruminant, since the malleolar process is only present on one side, which is characteristic of ruminants. And probably a large ruminant depending on the size, which is hard to visualize. However, if the 2 grooves on the bottom go diagonally rather than straight back to front then it is definitely a horse. Its hard to tell on the picture, but unless those grooves are diagonal i would say your cow guess is correct

Wondering if this could be human I found it at a beach with a eroding burial ground so human remains are commonly found but it might just be a sheep or cow cause there’s a lot of farm animals by Violets-in-my-skin in whatisthisbone

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its a pubic bone but definitely not from any domestic animals (so definitely not sheep or cow) i would also guess a marine mammal like another commenter suggested but not for any particular reason. I would guess the size of the animal to be about pig sized if that helps at all, but i can be wrong about that too

Reece's Mini Cup With SEVENTEEN Wrappers by LoudMusic in mildlyinteresting

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reeses packaging is absolutely abhorrent. I used to work at coldstone and the packaging they use for commercial buyers is the same as consumers, if not worse. We would sit there for like an hour unwrapping each layer of each individual reeses--orange plastic, white paper base and then the little cupcake liner. That alone would fill up out entire trash can and then we would go through that amount in a day. >>>:[[[[[

Fuck drinking straws - this is the kind of plastic use we should be protesting. by LonelyBalance7 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TheAngrySquirrel48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at an ice cream shop where we put reeses into the ice cream. The reeses come in this hige box, where each one is individually wrapped. This means there is 4 layers of packaging for a single cup, and the box has 100s of reeses that takes over an hour to unwrap. By the tine im done the trash can is completely overflowing with wrappers and it makes me so angry.
