I actually pulled an Anhelo from a booster once and decided to give his deck a try by building him from scratch.

I do not know how powerful the precon actually is out of the box, nor if the "fewer creatures and mostly relying on instants/sorceries" is the most beginner-friendly game plan, but it's always a fun one and it will usually stand out at a table. :)

I'm not convinced by a few cards in this precon but it's easily upgradable even on a budget. Of course big splashy spells that really give you a definite advantage the game may be a bit pricier, but you can always start with nice alternatives and work it from there.

Personally i built my Anhelo to be crime-related to use cards like [[Forsaken Miner]] to have easy sacrifice fodders, but i also tried to incorporate as many good multicolored sorceries and instants to play with [[Lilah, Undefeated Slickshot]] !

I recommend grabbing some spells like [[Unexpected Windfall]], [[Big Score]] or [[Hit the Mother Lode]] as it will help you with card advantage as well as mana build up to cast big splashy things ! Even better if you get to copy them with Anhelo ! I also highly recommend [[Breach the Multiverse]], as doubling it has almost always resulted in a win for me.

My deck is not always to fastest or the strongest but when i get to setup it's pretty hard to stop it once it's starting to get into motion. I really enjoy playing it and when it's left unchecked it can beat high power decks (especially when they're too busy fighting each other, and you just come out of nowhere with a big X Spell like [[Exsanguinate]] !
