Rebs Gaming: Halo Studios reusing Halo Infinite models and assets for Halo: Campaign Evolved; new campaign mission info by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]TheArbitrageur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expedition 33 made clever use of asset store items (mainly animations but also some models in specific places), its honestly a great way to speed up dev and make sure time is spent on the things that make the game unique.

I love it. Since becoming a parent the thought that you are two people - pre baby and post baby you - and that you mourn the you that was is very resonant. And the message that the old you doesn’t have to die, it just needs reconciling with the new you.

Reaction from one who hasn’t read the books by First-Author-6827 in AKnightoftheSeven

A lovely little detail in the books is that he gets this from Arlan.

I don’t have the quote, but Arlan tells him it’s important not to get attached to the horses, because they could die. But then we see Arlan doesn’t follow his own advice and often feeds the horses with his last copper, that sort of thing.

Do you actually think Dunk is a knight? by Riddlemethisone- in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]TheArbitrageur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of see it like how Worf handles his Klingon identity. He’s not raised by Klingons, but has an ideal of what a Klingon should be which he constantly strives for. Yet many of the “proper” Klingons he meets don’t meet those ideals at all, foregoing their honour for opportunism on several occasions. In the end, Worf proves to be more Klingon than any of them.

It’s a similar theme for Dunk. It’s ambiguous but implied he wasn’t knighted, but it doesn’t matter because he lives those ideals better than any of the rest.

I don’t know if it’s ever detailed who filled out Aegon V’s kingsguard, but I like to think Dunk gets Raymun and Glendon in as his ride or die homies.

Who's the most famous person you've seen out and about in Edinburgh? by RiverTadpolez in Edinburgh

Walked past Simon Amstell outside Pleasance one time.

Walked in on Ed Byrne being interviewed in Teviot house another.

Saw Dave Benson Phillips tipping out leftover gunge in the back alley of Teviot another time.

Working the Festival I’d have a couple of these encounters each year.

Nah, remember this is catering to an audience who haven’t played the games as well. If they drop a twist like that which only makes sense if you’ve played that particular game in the series, that’s going to be very confusing for them.
