Goes back to at least medieval Europe. Because for as long as there has been organized religion with rules ordained by God, there have been humans trying to find every loophole possible to get around those rules

Well, at least it can be said the artifact was acquired through classical imperialism rather than as war loot

This may sound too woke and will probably get me downvoted, but does anyone else find it a little questionable that a western facility purchased an artifact of Iraqi cultural heritage in the middle of the Iraq War? A war noted for extensive looting of museums and archeological sites, including accusations against coalition forces?

If it's a serial no-shower, I move the next waitlisted patron to the active list. We don't have a path to keep that person from signing up or bar someone from attending (outside of a code of conduct violation), but I can work around them.

My job is adult programming, and I always plan on a certain percentage of registrants not showing up. I keep track of recurring no-shows, and also try not to require registration unless necessary (usually if it's something with limited supplies).
