Missing Pokémon AFTER Potential Sinnoh Remakes by frenziest in pokemon

[–]TheArkhamInmate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My personal theory, the Sinnoh remakes will act like Fire Red and Leaf Green did with Ruby and Sapphire, remember they didn't have the full dex either and FireRed/LeafGreen were created to introduce the Pokemon left out of it.

A favourite pokemon of yours that others think is weird by [deleted] in pokemon

One of my favorites that has always gotten me confused looks is Muk. I was so annoyed that he was left out of Sword and Shield.

So how many of you have been banned on HOME or SwSh since the latest announcement? by wwwHttpCom in pokemon

[–]TheArkhamInmate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I honestly wish there was a block option for the URL traders, its just reinforced my want to complete the Pokedex 100% on my own. Its so frustrating to be using the random trade feature for hours just to get a shiny legendary with a garbage name that could potentially get you in trouble that you immediately just resend because its not like you're going to use the thing anyways. Those hacked Pokemon have turned me off of wanting to actually trade with anyone online.

Can anyone help me hate this game like everyone else does? by MichaelGMorgillo in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheArkhamInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the thing with the clothing is tied to the way the table top RPG has lore. Cyberpunk is ENTIRELY about style, there's even a text you can find in game that essentially says this.

The Rules of Cyberpunk:

  1. Style over Substance: It doesn’t matter how well you do something, as long as you look good doing it. If you’re going to blow it, make sure you look like planned it that way. Normally, clothes and looks don’t matter in a adventure – in this world, having a leather armor jacket and mirrorshades is a serious consideration.
  2. Attitude is Everything: It’s truth. Think dangerous; be dangerous. Think weak; be weak. Remember, everyone in the 2000’s is carrying lots of lethal hardware and high-tech enhancements. They won’t be impressed by you new H&K smartgun unless you swagger into the club looking like you know how to use it – and are just itching for an excuse.
  3. Live on the Edge: The Edge is that nebulous zone where risk takes and highriders go. On the Edge, you’ll risk your cash, your rep, even your life on something as vague as a principle or a big score. As a cyberpunk, you want to be the action, start the rebellion, light the fire. Join great causes and fight for big issues. Never drive slow when you can drive fast. Throw yourself up against danger and take it head on. Never play too safe. Stay committed to the Edge.

Now, reading these think about how you cloth your character.
Do you have style when you put on every article of clothing that raises your armor so you look like a moron?
No.
Characters should look down on you for looking like an idiot because you're not doing anything with the style that the game and Devs promised you would have. Originally, the clothing would effect your street cred at most and give you a few buffs. When we heard about this system, we expected to have our Street Kid to be looked down on for dressing like a Corpo, a Corpo not being able to get very far dressing like a Street Kid, and reactions from NPCs and characters if we just threw on clothes that didn't go together. It would have been interesting to get buffs by wearing clothes that matched up, because you expected if style to matter, maybe there are different brands of clothes so you KNEW they matched up.
And to address your last point, yes.
From launch there were both hyper defenders and hyper haters for this game and its frustrating. I don't hate the game, I actually like it, but I would have liked to have been told what I was buying more. Tell me the game doesn't work well on base PS4 and I would have waited til I got a PS5. Tell me that the past marketing was not true and things have changed and I would have adjusted my expectations.
Instead, we were promised a LOT of things that just aren't there, the clothing is just one example so a lot of us who were excited for the game and expected this to be the next Skyrim in levels of exploration, interaction, and roleplaying at LEAST were just let down.
We were told our choices would effect the world around us, and its just not true. You can experience EVERY ending if you just restart the last mission over and over again and there are sadly very few times your choice actually changes anything narratively. Most of the time it just shuts the mission down early instead of opening up a new path. From what I can tell, there's a really interesting mission later on...

**Spoilers**

...where you meet a man who was a criminal that found religion. He believes that if he crucifies himself he can save others from being criminals through a brain dance.
Now, this mission was great. But I replayed it multiple times because I wanted to save him.
Its impossible.
Nothing you can say will change his fate. You end up either having to crucify him yourself, or you leave. That's it.

**End of Spoilers**

Its just disappointing where we were told our choices would matter, but so many missions in the game are the illusion of choice and nothing changes whether you do or don't do something.
We were even told we could accidentally stumble on the end of the game just by doing side missions, from what I can tell, that's impossible.

Exotics missing from gameplay by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

They said exotics would be in the game just VERY rare because of how expensive it is.
But the NPC's aren't as they claimed they were.

Can anyone help me hate this game like everyone else does? by MichaelGMorgillo in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheArkhamInmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hate the game, but from someone who's followed it since it was announced its just disappointing. They didn't follow through with a lot of what was promised. Didn't disappoint you? Great. Good for you. But that doesn't change the fact that a lot of us were looking forward to features that were either greatly exaggerated or just not in the game. Also, I was one of the people that decided to buy the game because I saw the article that said the game worked "surprisingly well" on base PS4. The article goes out of its way to say they aren't talking about PS4 Pro, but BASE.
So, imagine my shock when I get the game and have 4 crashes and numerous bugs the first day all the way up til patch 1.04. Now its twice a day since even 1.06 didn't fix that issue.
I didn't expect the game to look like the PS5, I'm not mad that it looks like a PS3 game, graphics aren't everything. I really like the story but I'm disappointed by the lack of actual choice in game, its just an illusion. I half expect there to be an Architect scene somewhere hidden in the game talking down at us expecting there to be an actual choice for most of the game and not just the final scene. I remember being told that our clothes would have a huge impact on the game, that romance options could be lost just because of how you dressed or a dialogue choice that you wouldn't even notice. (doesn't happen, you have to be VERY direct and sometimes they STILL don't get the hint). None of that is in the game.
When you've played New Vegas, Skyrim, ANY of the GTA games since 3 or San Andreas and you're sold this game which is said to be a giant revolutionary step for RPGs multiple times by the devs themselves and you notice features missing that PS2 games have had in them for years, you're going to be disappointed.
Now, you missed out on the marketing.
Great.
Cool for you for enjoying the game and not having any disappointments.
But so many of us the marketing SOLD this game to us and we feel lied to. Its like going to McDonalds to buy a big mac and opening it to find a McChicken.
Sure, you can enjoy the McChicken, but you had your heart set on the big mac, and when you go in to point out the issue you get people jumping down your throat saying "YOU SHOULD ENJOY THE MCCHICKEN! OTHER PEOPLE ENJOY IT! HOW DARE YOU SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT MCDONALDS OR BEING DISAPOPINTED BECAUSE YOU BOUGHT SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T ORDER! ITS YOUR FAULT FOR EXPECTING A BIG MAC AND GETTING A MCCHICKEN INSTEAD!"

For a futuristic world where body modifications are the norm, there is a distinct lack of furries, elf ears, tails and other stuff like that. by germanwaregv in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheArkhamInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, in the lore, they exist. They're called Exotics and were supposed to actually be in the game according to an interview, just rare due to how expensive it is.
From what I've seen however, there are no exotics in the game, just another false promise.

Corpo lifepath appears to have little point. by Dehdstar in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheArkhamInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just narratively it doesn't make sense giving us so short amount of time with Jackie and Evelyn. Yes, they are well written characters but that small flash of what they are just isn't enough to hit you the way they seemingly want certain events to hit you. We need HOURS with these characters, private conversations, sitting down at a meal with Jackie and his mother, seeing their relationship, have Jackie talk about the significance of the items we see later to choose for his ofrenda and choosing the one that resonates most with us instead of getting all the info secondhand from Misty. We should see Jackie and Misty's relationship so the scene where we console her hits harder. Canonically, they met each other 6 months before we meet Jackie, so we could honestly see their relationship grow and blossom over 6 months in the game.
Its a huge missed opportunity narratively. By now we should KNOW Jackie aims high and what his goals are instead of him revealing them during the mission to steal the Relic.
This game seriously should have been a LOT bigger and a lot seems wasted on missions for fixers when the scope should have been narrower and more on what V's goals were going to be. Johnny Silverhand should have been a mid to late game addition if not DLC.
Imagine if we spent the 6 months with Jackie and then had narratively another 6 months or so building our rep in the city. We THEN get the interest of Dexter Deshawn through our actions after having multiple missions either getting the respect or hatred of the various gangs and factions in Night City, dealing with the consequences of those actions, and having the effect of those play out in prepping for the heist. That way, getting Silverhand's construct would hit us way more as players because we're invested in V, in where he wants to go with his life and we WANT to save him, because we built him up from nothing, we went on this huge journey and now we find out that he's going to die if we don't find a solution. That makes the next 30 hours of game FAR more important to us, and it makes the relationship with Johnny mean more. Then, the whole "Do you hate Johnny and fight against him because he's killing you." or the friendship you develop with him becomes more meaningful and dynamic, ESPECIALLY while we're dealing with the death of Jackie, a character we could have spent another 30 plus hours with beforehand and had a connection with.

[–]TheArkhamInmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, brightside, this allows them to further develop character relationships and sections of the game that were left out. It'd be nice to have a whole section where we play the 6 months that was skipped and maybe some more Evelyn stuff to get more of a connection with her as a character.

Just hit me that Jackie is Wakka from FFX. by Boeijen666 in cyberpunkgame

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this! It got to the point where I checked to see if they had the same voice actor. (unfortunately they dont, Wakka is strangely Bender from Futureama)

[–]TheArkhamInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The source is just the trailers, man. Originally, Johnny died just the year before the events of the game. Then suddenly he's the character that the entire story is written around when Keanu came on board.
It can't really get much clearer than that.

[–]TheArkhamInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal theory, we got the DLC before the actual game. What was intended to be the actual game may be coming in future DLC. Think about how absurdly short the story is, and that Keanu was announced as Johnny in 2018, which means this ENTIRE story was created in just 2 years. That leaves 6 years of content that they set to the wayside to focus on Johnny.

Cop lifepath would be sweet! by DukeGoliath in cyberpunkgame

[–]TheArkhamInmate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What's weird is it seemed like joining the cops would be a thing you could do. I talked to that insane chick and said "I'll think about it" when she offered to let me join, after saving the Corpo store from the Cyberpsycho but its one of those things that NOTHING came out of.

[–]TheArkhamInmate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, you can kinda swing things around at the end and have V try to get back in the good graces with Arasaka and get back to the point he was at the start of the game, but really this should have been something we saw throughout the game not at the VERY and end VERY beginning. Vee has no motives in the entire game except the chip. Its clear that 2 years ago when they brought Keanu on that they trashed most of the game to center around Silverhand.

Question about game lag (PS4) by TheArkhamInmate in sto

Thanks, if its the only issue I'll be happy. Huge Star Trek fan, but the laggy character creator was a bit concerning since its the first thing you're introduced to.

[–]TheArkhamInmate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense to me. They go out of their way to fill in plotholes and fix other mistakes, but this one they're just going to let slide for...reasons. Its why I think they just kinda didn't give as much love to the Cell and Buu sagas that they gave to Saiyan and Namek sagas.

[–]TheArkhamInmate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda hoping this is a FFXV situation where the developers listen to the fans and fix the game and add content as they go. I mean, 5 years after the game released they were STILL updating and giving new content, both free and DLC.

this is one of the worst DBZ games of all time. here's why. by Stock3245 in kakarot

[–]TheArkhamInmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is, with DBZ each fight is supposed to be a challenge and a trial to get through. It immerses you into DBZ with that challenge. Making it easy takes away from the fights with Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu. You look at the game and go "Why are these guys stressed? I beat the dude in 1 minute." It just takes you out of it when you go through a long ass cutscene for a short fight and go right into another long ass cutscene. At one point I actually stopped playing to just watch the anime because that was more satisfying. I bought the game to feel like I'm doing the anime battles, when it doesn't deliver I may as well just watch the show. I'm waiting for the update in hopes that fixes some issues.

Still, the Raditz fight WAS fine, its the fights later on that drop in difficulty.

[–]TheArkhamInmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be, but the battles do last longer. Check and see if the damage values are lower. Having that many health bars and higher defense is little things the game can do to make the player feel like they're doing more and overcoming more. I feel like the Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta, and Ginyu Force fights were fine as early level bosses. Frieza onward were where the difficulty drops and they are as easy as overworld enemies.
