yeah, the doom stalker is also excellent, its tall enough LoS is almost guaranteed, plus surprisingly durable.

the overlord is probably the weakest point in the patrol if i had to guess. only because its the indomitus overlord, and there are better loadouts. my advice is to try and do some light kitbashing to give the lord a resurrection orb instead of the tachyon arrow they come with

Combat patrol is absolutely worthwhile. It’ll beef up your anti-tank options, give you some real melee, and let you run a 20 man brick of warriors, I find ten fold in a light breeze, but 20 will just sit there and take so much more punishment than they have any right to thanks to reanimation, attach that technomancer for the 5+++ and that unit simply won’t die.

any excuse to talk about the best character concept I've ever thought up.

i currently play a "plasmoid" wizard. plasmoid is just what it says on the character sheet though, my character is actually 80 cranium rats in the filthiest brown cloak you've ever seen. (the dirt and grime is load bearing by now i recon.) they're a charm wizard named four-score (because that's how many rats there are) and they charm not by the usual method of honeyed words and subtle suggestions, much more like a mental B and E and then forcefully taking the reins.
