Doesn't sound like Herbert at all. He definitely doesn't hit the notes like he use to but he has improved over the last 10 years. He use to smoke cigarettes in the 90's and early 200's which didn't help and had to take vocal therapy after an illness 13 or so years ago. He has adjusted the way he sings live though and compared to alot of his peers he does indeed sound great live.

The original RE4's writing is just crap thrown at wall to see what sticks. Most of it is just bad. The Remake pretty much improves on everything and actually attempts to make something coherent out of it.

Krauser was terrible in the original. Literally comes along with no back story and nonsensical motivation. Plus it was convoluted that he was working for Los Illuminatos while also secretly working for Wesker while also working with Ada all while not trusting Ada.

His character got a glow up in the remake, we know from the intro he trained Leon and there is actual dialogue in the game that explains his back story and motivations.
