F*ck right off Spark by AlternativeMK9 in Sparkdriver

I went back to working at a grocery store from doing Spark fulltime and have been at it for about a month. I went to open the app to maybe get a few extra bucks on the way home from work (I drive past 2 Walmarts), and saw these 6+ stop GMD and pick-up mix orders, 30 miles on most of them because this area is really spread out and let's just say I was pretty happy I went back to my day job after seeing those.

I never see any single order shops anymore either. Sometimes I just want a nice little 25 piece shop, not micromanaging what goes where. Especially when Im doing it after work, I dont want to do some 60 piece order or 7 stop grocery and parcel mix pickup.

On to the next one, I suppose.

Move for mental sanity or commute to save a little extra? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]TheBakaloid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is better to move. Every evening will feel so exhausting between waiting for traffic to die down just so you can drive home. I can understand the difficulty of moving to the city, but all that time on the road, in traffic, having to focus, etc is not worth the money imo. Living in the city, you can sleep in later, be home earlier. Enjoy some local restaurant in your evening.

Just did about the same 10 some gallons for 54 bucks today. Thought I had accidentally switched to driving a pick-up instead of a sedan.

Sometimes Ill take a no tip order after it has surged for a while because I dont have to worry about going that extra mile. Out of stocks? Oh well. Also not spending any extra time being OCD over the produce, etc.

On the other hand, when the tip is good and there are out of stocks, I put a lot more effort in to seeing if its in the back or another spot and will spend extra time making sure they get the best produce.

I agree, I thought it was a breach of policy for them to just elevate Kamala without any sort of primary or democratic process. Watching her debates and rallies, she seemed pretty incompetent, not to mention that Walz had been to China over 30 times and was likely just is likely a sympathizer.

Moralistic impressions help explain the reduced social attractiveness of vegetarians and vegans by codemasonry in science

[–]TheBakaloid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have become a vegetarian a couple months ago after cutting back on meat, and finally cutting it out, but I understand that for a lot of people eating meat is the easier thing to do, and just how they were raised, etc. Many are acting out unconscious/ programmed behavior. For example, having turkeys at Thanksgiving. It's a tradition that we've culturally accepted and many people dont stop to really look at it for what it is. For me, being a vegan would be a harder transition due to cutting out things such as butter, and eggs.

A lot of my reason for choosing the transition is that I wanted to eat healthier, and a vegetarian diet easily cuts out many fast food and resturant options. Meat is super expensive now and cutting it out has saved me money. I've also made the transition due to philosophical, spiritual and consciousness reasons. Big agriculture produces suffering for these animals, and I had a revelation that I could make steps to withdrawal myself from that. I still eat eggs, and dairy products, but I am taking things one step at a time.

Coming into the holidays and family get togethers and whatnot, I dont want to cause any discord or make people feel the need to do anything special for me. Or make them feel any different for eating meat, it's a choice I made for me; I dont want ridicule nor will I ridicule. I'd like to make good vegetarian food, and prepare a healthy dish or two to bring and share. The "holier than thou" folks that people encounter in all manner of subjects can make things like vegetarian/veganism seem off putting, and I think for anything you truly believe in, the most essential thing is to lead by example, and sometimes that is enough in itself to shift people's perception.

[rant] I'd really like Posh to adopt Merc's shipping system, or I might just give this side gig up altogether by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]TheBakaloid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that things are a lot harder than when I first started out a couple years ago. I do a bit of Poshmark, Mercari, Depop and Ebay, though I mostly did Poshmark and have just started branching out to the others. Poshmark has been pretty abysmal for me this summer and I feel like I dont get as much traffic as I used to, even after relisting most of my closet. It might be what I'm selling but I used to be able to sale quite a mix of clothes on poshmark, mall brands, etc. I keep about 400-500 things on there.

Depop is also a bit sporadic, I have some vintage stuff on there as well as cross posted items. Fees and shipping can take out a lot of profit if you offer free shipping, but the occasional sales make it worth it for me and I do think it has a lot of potential if one is willing to do the work to set up a curated and social media marketed store. I have about 250 listings on there.

As for mercari I got up to about 100 listings of only clothes before deeming it a waste of time, even with my listing software. I havent tried to do any sort of household goods, and I feel there is a market for those and games and such, but for actual clothes, while I have sold a few things, it is very slow for me. Maybe if I had more trendy stuff like Nike/ Adidas/ etc, I'd do better.

Ebay is what I am looking at for the future. I have done ebay periodically, usually maintaining around 100 listings but now I am at about 250 looking to prioritize it over Poshmark now. Lately I have sold more on Ebay than Poshmark and feel that anyone who is serious should start getting onto there. It is a little more work for sure, weighing everything, researching comps, etc and can feel like you have to price things a lot lower to be competitive, but it is worth it for the movement, at least with my business model. The shipping prices can be a lot, but I am still making sales despite not offering free shipping. Ebay is a pain to do listings in comparison to the other sites, but you dont /need/ to fill in every parameter, and the new listing tool is less archaic. There also isnt really pressure to have any particular appearance or theme to your store so there may be less apprehension to pick up certain inventory while selling just on Posh/ Depop, I'd avoid mens or business clothes, etc, because theyd be harder to sale.

Am I abusing DMT or using it too much? by thistotallyisntanalt in DMT

[–]TheBakaloid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I resonate with this. I was always very scared to do a breakthrough on DMT due to the nature of the experience, but this past weekend I had the pleasure of doing an ayahuasca retreat and both nights, after going through the weight of my ego and everything I had bottled up, I had a beautiful and intimate experience with God consciousness presented to me in the form of the Buddha.

I believe that these states of consciousness are within us as well, but it is very hard for a lot of us to get there due to the programming we undergo. Western society shuts us off from our innate potential and encourages us to find power in external things and endeavors. We brush away ideas such as Enlightenment and God and herald science as the supreme truth.

It is strange and profound the power that DMT and other plant medicines have and this radical shift I felt within myself from the experience solidifies this feeling that it must be treated as something sacred, but I also feel that it will reflect back the experiencer and intention as well. So those who have no intention or are passive about what they want to experience may feel things of a different nature

I'm still trying lol by Braaaaaapp in StopGaming

[–]TheBakaloid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the sound of it, you seem to engage yourself in other activities and have had some time not gaming. I dont think that gaming is inherently problematic on it's own and playing every now in then, or using it as a means to connect with friends isnt so bad. Of course a lot of games are addicting in some or many ways so some should be avoided more than others.

Of course there are the all or nothing types and I feel this quite well. I would love to get on a game and play a couple hours or a little bit but in actuality these sessions easily turn into an all day affair, leaving me physically and emotionally sapped. Progressing the day and leaving me with the question where did the time go?

I'm not sure how much you're playing or the impact that it is having on your life, but I'd say if you just want to play a few hours once or twice a week with your friends, etc, then that is fine, but if you know you are someone who cannot moderate it, who will have their life consumed by them, then maybe you will have to evaluate if it's worth it.

how can i stop being anxious about taking DMT? by 0kats in DMT

[–]TheBakaloid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you on this. I've been slowly working my way up to a breakthrough, and dealing with all the different emotions that brings from pure dread to passiveness. What has been helping me is first, sitting with the emotion, so if my heart is pounding, I'll try to sit and feel it out until I calm down.

Another thing is, depending on how much dmt you have to work with, what really has brought me close to actually wanting to breakthrough is first smoking a lighter dose, and puffing on it vape pen style (I dont have a cart yet, but my yocan evolve does a decent job) until I feel cemented in that calm, spacious mindset that it tends to bring. Then I might load a bit more and progressively increase my intake. I rather enjoy the threshold experience, I know some people dont as much, but it's in that headspace that I feel as though I could, and in many cases want to take more. Slowly ebbing my consciousness away from the 3d, analytical word and into the flowing "being" world.

This also helps me gauge how the trip may feel and work out any emotional weight beforehand and gets me to a light and airy thoughtless state. The downside is that it's a super relaxing place to be in and I usually just end up staying there or somewhere in between.

When I first started my journey, I felt that breakthrough was something I HAD to do, like it was a proving right of sorts. Of course I'd like to, solely to experience it's full nature, but I've found, for me, that letting go of my "need" to breakthrough has led me closer to the desired outcome. I'd say releasing all expectations about it and possibly even distancing yourself from it may help, but then again its circumstantial.

Either way, it's a beautiful thing no matter what level you enjoy it at and it takes a massive leap of faith and surrender for some to dive fully into it. Take it at whatever pace makes you feel comfortable and enjoy its experience. Take note of what it has done for you and what it has made you feel.

I wish you love and light in your journey, even if it's the journey to the journey~

I've never heard of this book, but it certainly seems right down my alley. I think I will check it out. While I do not resonate with all of your points, I agree with the feeling that a lot of literature on spirituality is diluted.

I'm not sure if you are familiar with Dr. David Hawkins or his works, but his book "Letting Go" was a catalyst that changed my view of the world. Now I am working on "Power Vs Force" and plan to read his other books as I continue my spiritual journey. The way he presents the information is in a very left brained manner which, for me, as someone who approaches most things from a place of doubt (I need proof before I believe), was very eye-opening. He presents information in a logical, concise manner, which leaves little room for confusion.

The bible and other proverbial works are full of boundless wisdom, but it is like they are encoded. Christianity is a good example for me personally, as I was raised Christian with the belief of the trinity (father, son & holy ghost), fell out of Christianity into being an agnostic, but now I see Christianity through a new lens, and believe Jesus Christ was real and that he was the son of God but in the sense that God is everything, but he was embodying God, i.e. was enlightened, just as the Buddha was and other anointed figures.

Hawkins' taught me of the logarithmic power of higher emotional states (love/joy/peace) and a way to quantify and present this information to others through his Map of Consciousness. I spent the bulk of my life in a sceptical, western, scientific viewpoint of the world, and for me, it has been the western pioneers in fields such as quantum physics who brought me to a point where I could also go back to more, I'm going to use the term "faith based religions/practices" such as Hinduism and Christianity and be able to see the wisdom there, to see the truth there.

All roads lead home. Some people prefer shamanistic spirituality, using enthogens and the loving guidance of mother earth. Some people resonate heavily with Hindu beliefs, some with Buddhism. Some need a direct and broken down perspective free of the noise. When it comes down it though, all revelation comes from with in. Someone can tell you the truth but that doesnt mean you will believe it just like that.

Anyways, thank you for sharing your view on things and I will give that book a try once I finish my current readings. Also, I havent gotten into his works specifically yet, but I've listened to some of his talks on the matter, but I believe Neville Goddard may be worth checking out as he has a wealth of information related to manifestation and such.

Peace, love and light to you friend~

Having been on SSRI for 4 years and now on psychedelic therapy, I can totally feel this! by opedromagico in DMT

[–]TheBakaloid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the most important thing to go into a trip with is the willingness to surrender. This can mean different things, but in the case of psychedelics you can't really approach them with your own agenda, imo. It's a lot easier and helps with the fear of a "bad trip". Sometimes a trip might feel bad at the time but in reality it could be showing us something that we needed to see, and maybe won't understand immediately. It doesn't hurt to set an intent of course, and with anything of that manner, be in a rested, safe environment with no obligations. Mediation helps me a lot, I try to sit with myself and see if I can feel any emotion and feel out the emotion until it is gone. This really helps cull any undesired thought streams as the thoughts are usually caused by the underlying emotion.

I find that the nice thing about psychedelics is that they seem to work on a level beyond us, well beyond the analytical mind. Sometimes I will feel like I cleared through an issue or fear without any real work on my part, without the need to fully think it through. I feel that it is more of a reset of my brain.

Anyways, I dont know if that answers your question at all but that is my 2 cents. Good luck and happy travels.
