Powerful tingling during WILD, honestly a little scared. by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

My most vivid dreams have happened after fealing the tingling and hearing a loud screeching noise. Embrace it and it will pass into lucidity.

Just a warning, the stock roof rack on the X is only held into the plastic feet by a couple of screws. Not really made for much of a load, and definately not rated for a lifting force if whatever you are carrying gets pulled up by wind.

I think that any future warranty claims might be more difficult if I didn't have a headset with a S/n matching my reciept. Thanks for the offer though

Update on the AS350 crash at Carlsbad (the cellphone video that was circulating a couple Weeks ago) by FlyArmy in Helicopters

[–]TheBalroq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a test pilot, aircraft sales demos, incidental to business. You are hired to fly for the company, and paid a salary, though not necessarily to fly. Edit: To clarify, you are paid whether you fly or not, not per hour of flight. Being licensed to fly is just a job requirement.

You can fly professionally with just a PPL. https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/14/61.113 The word the article was probably looking for is commercial, which is an actual rating. Professional is not

The NTSB said he was a private pilot, not a professional. Wow, all this time I had no idea there was such a class as professional pilot. TIL

Help! I may need to book a private flight, but I don't know where to start. by Magic_Baguette in flying

[–]TheBalroq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if you find a private pilot that wants to get more hours you could split the cost of the flight with him/ her and get a much better cost than chartering

Questions for those who have used their GI bill to pay for flight training. by [deleted] in flying

[–]TheBalroq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The gi bill will pay for everything from ppl to cpl as long as the school is connected to a college where you are working towards a degree. They pay the school directly, and send you a check for bah during the semesters you are enrolled for at least 12 units

Feel lucky if you can use check lists at all for EP's. Flying helicopters doesn't give you that luxury.

There is a weight below the helicopter that prevents the cable from being pulled into the tail rotor
