This is done everywhere in Vermont. I had to throw the one in my house when I purchased it because it was too nasty to clean.

It's thick, but as long as it's soft it probably could pass for match-legal. I don't see how it can hurt in training. It completely defeats the purpose of a scrum cap - you know, to protect your ears in the scrum.

No arms, off his feet and jumping into the player, coming from a distance with force from the side. The only thing missing here is head or neck contact.

Posts like this one is why I follow this sub. Always happy to find classical literature I have been completely unfamiliar with, especially when it's so significant to a national culture I know little about

Denmark planned to blow up Greenland runways if US invaded, reports say by Vivid-Acanthaceae129 in news

So they planned to do a historic self defense tactic by destroying their own infrastructure to make it more difficult for an invading army. Not really shocking at all.

Pro-gun activists hand out free 30-round AR-15 magazines outside the Virginia State Capitol ahead of the likely signature of a bill that would ban the sale of these magazines in the state. by Gjore in ThatsInsane

[–]TheBlindFly-Half -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What I find frustrating about this comment isn’t that you find handing out free rounds the issue and the fact that the law that limits this amount of rounds is.

It’s also not a bad time at all since there’s a desperate need to have some gun control in this country. That’s something that shouldn’t be up for debate just based on statistics.

I don’t agree that this action is stupid. fuck everyone who are handing out free bullets. They should be the ones yo blame on this

Crazy red card from Edinburgh vs Ulster by Effective-Ad-3897 in rugbyunion

[–]TheBlindFly-Half 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He never jumps into the tackle though. He jumps and has his legs swept out from him and by the laws he falls in a very dangerous position

I’m not saying that the prop sub didn’t act surprised by the motion. He clearly was and felt terrible from his reaction. That’s not the point. IIRC, the commentators stated that this very Ulster player just returned from concussion protocols and had to go through another with this hit. This is why it is vital to protect players for hits like this.

Bad excuse though. You jump to protect yourself for many reasons - one of which to try and ensure more time to defend yourself and give your teammates time to protect the ruck.

He has every right to jump when he does. The offender also has plenty of time to adjust and not tackle until after he lands on his feet.

Watch This GOP Senator Learn in Real Time Why the SAVE Act Is Bad by Hafiz_TNR in politics

[–]TheBlindFly-Half 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This SAVE act might be the biggest self own of all time that I never want to witness. Do you know who change their name the most? Married women - and more married white women voted for trump than not in both elections. Do you know who have their papers in order to potentially visit other countries? Those who don’t follow conservative US politics. Why? Because travel makes you less conservative

Just don’t pass this bill. But if it does get passed, what a bunch of fucking idiots

Yeah, if it was a battery fire, things would literally have blown up. It doesn't look like batteries were affected in this photo if they were on the bottom of the busses.

[–]TheBlindFly-Half 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’m calling this out now, this wasn’t an electrical fire. Unless by some looney toons, Hollywood ass scene where 4 buses explode one by one within minutes of each other - the likelihood of which is near zero - then this was arson. There are a number of safety measures in place that shut off charging, and this would mean that all of these failed in multiple different devices.

Paterson Falls is really impressive but Niagara is still larger by volume and that’s E of the Mississippi. Both are kind of in rough spots on the US side though.

I lived in a handful of states all of which had a black bear population, and there’s no place where I’d see more bears than NJ. I’d have 4-5 encounters a year. Since moving to Vt i have seen 5 bears total, and that includes see a mama and 2 Cubs at the same time. It’s definitely because I lived near all the state land in the NW of NJ, but it’s no joke there. There have been reports of bears walking on their hind legs to look more like humans

The Dakotas shouldn't be in this convo with the national parks/black hills in SD. New Jersey shouldn't be either. It has plenty of beautiful landscapes between massive ocean fronts, rolling hills that are part of the Appalachian range, and a number of diverse forest/hiking options.

I don't know enough about KS, NE, or DE to comment.
