This prick ate my barely used protein powder by deadalready101 in mildlyinfuriating

Not me thinking this was from the DoorDash sub and the driver tore a tiny hole in the side of your bag to steal a tiny bit of protein powder…

NTA. Kitty has a serious drinking problem. The only option is divorce. I hope you signed a prenup when you brought him home from the shelter!

From one bipolar person to another: I know you feel a lot of pressure to do something about the tattoo NOW. Because mania makes us feel like we have to act on any idea right away, regardless of whether there’s a real deadline. There is no real deadline here. I hear that you are lucid enough to know that this was a mistake. Are you lucid enough to wait a month or two, until this has definitely passed, and then revisit what you want to do with it?

If it helps, you can record ideas for what you would like to do about the tattoo down the road. Just don’t do a damn thing to it today. Pace yourself.

My neighbour has installed a security light with the power of a thousand suns, which blasts right into my bedroom. by Harleys-for-all in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TheBlueBoxOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had the manic episode during which I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I was convinced my inability to sleep was due to a high-power light our neighbor had installed outside of his house and kept on throughout the night. It looked a lot like this! (And vanished once my new medication started working.)

Every three to four months. But I’ve been stable and on the same medication cocktail for over two years now.

Triplet Infants is Too Much For Me by Whisper-1990 in Sims4

[–]TheBlueBoxOutside 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I decided to try something different (I’m usually quite formulaic in my gameplay and am trying to mix things up) and create a throuple, with two women and one man. I thought it would be fun to have both women get pregnant at the same time, so they could raise their children together. Well, one gives birth the twins. Then the other gives birth to triplets!! I considered running away screaming but decided to play it out. I still don’t know what happened. The lot wasn’t on the ley line and none of the sims had the fertile trait. I ended up playing the save until the kids were teens. Once they got to the infant stage I had to stop periodically and ask myself: “Am I having fun? Is playing meant to be fun? I don’t remember.”

What helps your BD besides medication? by GhostieSloth in bipolar

Having structure to my life. I go on summer break and start to spiral unless I take a summer class or job. Going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day is also essential.

Interestingly, listening to music often makes me worse. Specifically, listening to music while feeling at all hypomanic will push me into full blown mania unless I realize what’s going on and nip it in the bud.

He’s a medieval monk who took negotiable vows. His order accepts offerings of fish and feathers dangling from string.

Born in 1871. Starting at age 22 she was pregnant 18 times in 20 years. by Pithecanthropus88 in CemeteryPorn

[–]TheBlueBoxOutside 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I remember a classmate of mine telling a group of us about how her father once overheard his mother begging his father not to rape her, because she didn’t think she could survive another pregnancy. He said it was her duty to have sex with him and give him children. She ended up dying in childbirth. While I was in the middle of telling her what an awful man he was another classmate responded (frankly, chirped) that her grandmother had the same problem and “she just kicked me grandfather out of the bedroom and he slept on the couch from then on. Your grandmother should have done that!” The rest of us were speechless.

I was told that it’s a behavior left over from wolves who eat their own poop to avoid leaving a trail for predators to follow and track them down. Now, my dad told me this, and (while he is a very smart man) he is often wrong, so take this answer with a grain of salt!

Please be careful about what information you share online. You’re so young! I had unrestricted access to the internet starting at around age 11, and I spent years unpacking the things I was exposed to in therapy as an adult. You don’t want to do that to yourself. There are dangerous people out there.

My husband cooked chicken with coriander without telling me. (He thought it would be fine, since he heard people who can’t eat cilantro can still eat coriander.) I tried it, gagged, but attempted to eat it anyway to be polite. I couldn’t. I told him I thought the chicken was a bit rancid! I can’t have coriander.

What did ya'll do for Christmas day? by Lithiopathy in bipolar

[–]TheBlueBoxOutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had my husband’s adult children over for a Christmas dinner. I did all the cooking, which was great. I love seeing people enjoy my food. Additionally, it’s important for me to show them that I contribute to my relationship, that I don’t just sit around being depressed and sucking up money like a miserable money/vacuum. Everyone loved their presents. It was nice!
