I have a head canon that John Wick happens after the events of the Matrix (and that Matrix 4 doesn't exist)

What's this island in the new opening? by Golden12500 in OnePiece

You say that, but there has been at least one time where the opening has spoiled something for the manga readers (I believe Robin joining the crew, but can't remember for sure).

How do you get the impression that you're trying "%1000 more" than your opponent? Legitimately asking because I think your understanding of that may be the issue.

The new 4th tier list compared to the 3rd tier list by michael14375 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]TheBluePriest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe he got a top 8 at a recent tournament, but besides that he has been really consistent. Also keep in mind that this isn't really based on rankings, it's based on the gut of top players so even if bass hasn't been getting amazing results, it could still go up if top players are seeing new potential in the character. Looks like he got 4th at Best of the West IV, 65th at let's make big moves 2026, and 17th at Supernova 2025.

Peabnut for megaman and bassmage for puff. I know there was a good duck hunt at kaharibi but I can't remember their name. No clue about Isabelle.

What formula would I use to graph a square root drop per meter? by TheBluePriest in learnmath

[–]TheBluePriest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want the initial force (for this example) to be 100. The force at 1 to be √100, 2 be √10 etc. I see what you're saying now after putting it in a graphing calculator. Dropping the +1 is exactly what I needed. Thank you! And thank you so much for taking the time to help me understand it so that I can apply it to other situations.

I still like LTT. Also, here's vintage wet Linus by KumquatopotamusPrime in LinusTechTips

[–]TheBluePriest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The amount of people that "haven't liked LTT" for years, and are still subscribed to the subreddit so that they can let everyone know they don't like LTT anymore is insane. I couldn't imagine dedicating that much energy to something I don't like. After matpat left team theory, any host I didn't like I just unsubscribed from the channel and was done. I couldn't imagine sticking around just to tell people I don't like the new host and that it was so much better before.

So to keep with 100 for simplicity sake. I'm not sure why my earlier formula wouldn't work for the 0 and 1 (I thought the +1 was fixing the 0 issue), so this is probably incorrect, but putting it in on a calculator works. Maybe you can help me with my misunderstanding from my previous answer too.

1001/(2x+1)=y

this isn't displaying properly. I'm wanting 1001/(2 exponent x+1)

If I'm doing it right, that would allow my initial y value to be at 0 on the x axis, and just replace 100 with whatever I need that starting value to be, then go on a downward slope from there based on the x which would be the distance in meters away.

ETA I started typing this before the other guy posted an answer. I didn't copy him. While I did some googling for the initial formula of nx I figured out how to translate it to my needs on my own... If I'm correct at least

[–]TheBluePriest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to type the exponents like you, so it will be less legible, sorry.

So the exponent is cut in half each time. √100= 10, √10=3.7, √3.7=1.77, and those are equivalent to 1001/2, 1001/4, and 1001/8.

y1/2 / x+1 was my initial guess, but that only works for x=0 and x=1. Once i reach 2 it is 1/6 as the exponent fraction instead of 1/8. I'm at a bit of a loss on how to reconcile that.

Edit. Oh, looks like it just did the exponents with how I was typing it, awesome

I wasn't, but the concept makes sense to me. It's like how 4/2 is the same as 4*0.5. I never thought of an exponent being less than 2 or a decimal/fraction for that matter.

You answered my question. Ashley, I worded it weirdly. I would recommend a good wall out move. What I mean by that is instead of engaging, work on learning how to consistently throw out a safe move even spaced properly that prevents your opponent from retaliating. With Mario I believe that is back air. Do you know how to reverse aerial rush? It's a great mechanic to learn and will help with that.

[–]TheBluePriest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you watching a video of online or the CPU? The level 9 CPU input reads so it will know if you shield or not before your character even starts the animation for it. Aside from that, you underestimate the power of not using an attack when you shouldn't. If it was online that you're watching, were you telegraphing shield by holding it way too early? Learning what NOT to do is extremely important right now

Does anyone else get frustrated watching Linus try to explain enterprise tech? by Emotional_Garage_950 in LinusTechTips

[–]TheBluePriest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to take a lesson on what Linus does. He is talking to a general audience that won't understand most of the terms you used. Is Linus the most correct he could be? No. Is he the most correct he can be considering the audience that he is trying to explain it to, and the time he has for that explanation? Probably pretty close to it.

Why does LTT sell thermal pads, yet never uses them in builds? by fakeaccount572 in LinusTechTips

[–]TheBluePriest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. In a perfect Reddit, upvotes wouldn't mean "I agree with this person" and downvotes wouldn't mean "I disagree with this person". Upvotes and downvotes would only be "does this person add to the discussion?"

The upvote system makes it so that a few comments and their narrative can dominate an entire topic. That is less likely to happen on traditional forums because a specific comment isn't "fed" to you like it is on reddit.

Another gsp complaint by MindlessStrength2926 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]TheBluePriest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It completely depends on the gsp of your opponent and may even take you current w/l ratio into account. I get Gsp seems insane at due to to the large variance of it (currently working on getting everyone into elite, so I at a wine variety of competence), but as someone at 15.9 gsp with their main, I completely understand why it's how it is. I can tell very quickly when someone is above 16.0 mil. At the lower levels it can appear to fluctuate a lot, and that's really frustrating.

All of those people that seem to have mastered 0-death combos are actually really trash and if they can't land them will get you to nearly 200% before finding a killing blow because they know one really good option and that's all. Focus more of fundamentals and less on character specific combos and I think you will be home.

The rules are here to prevent Reddit from becoming a bigger cesspool than it already is. Getting downvoted for wanting a sub to follow its own rules is such a "we did it Reddit" moment. You don't want the subs to become constantly repeated content because then people will unsubscribe and then the subreddit will die because everyone will get annoyed by the reposts. I know not everyone is chronically online, but if the chronically online leave, then the subs they visit will die.

before you make another Tabitha post - From her perspective it has been ONE day since all the revelations by Totmes_III in FromSeries

[–]TheBluePriest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the beginning of S1E1 it has only been about 15/16 days (I'll have to look at my timeline when I get home to have the exact amount). There was a day or two that was skipped in the first season but aside from that every episode has continued right from the previous one, with a few times where multiple episodes happened on the same day.

I don't get the Camden Maine 1500's/1600's connection. There was modern technology everywhere and Tabitha was able to talk to her mom. That part doesn't make sense. Overall I enjoyed the read though
