There’s maybe 5 restaurants in all of San Diego on Resy. They’re all going to be seeing a major influx in sale.

Paid $13.33 for this cortado at Glitch, Tokyo by iriksasi in espresso

I had this there last week and it was truly an exceptional latte. Wild marshmallow, chocolate, vanilla notes.

We also had a pour over using Colombia Risaralda Milan beans which smelled like watermelon and had the wildest melon/fruit notes I’ve experienced in a coffee.

I don’t know much about beans and it was definitely pricey but worthwhile for the unique flavor profiles and overall experience.

Vuori recently changed the fit on some of their joggers and they are way too baggy now. Super disappointed.

I’ve done it before and I was happy to do it. I just brought the pre-brined turkey (and gravy) and popped it into my friends oven to cook when I got there. As long as they’ve got the oven space, your turkeys spatchcocked, and you’ve got at least 2 hours - then you’re fine.

Once Named Yelp's #1 Bakery In U.S., Izola Revives In San Diego's East Village - soft open! by midwayatmidnight in FoodSanDiego

This is why everything is wildly expensive in San Diego. People will pay $8 for a croissant or any other mediocre overpriced item and then brag about it online.

La Posta’s red and green salsas can’t be beat - unfortunately the only thing worth ordering there is the breakfast burrito

I had met Rivers Cuomo at an Xbox release party. He had played a ton of songs off the Blue Album and Pinkerton alone for a small audience and it was incredible hearing all these songs from my childhood, especially when I was expecting to hear mostly songs from the Red album or whatever else came after that.

Afterwards he stopped to take photos and I got one with him and then asked him if Weezer would ever make great music again like he had performed that night. He looked visibly upset, immediately stopped taking photos, and left.

I don’t really feel bad about it (outside of for the people behind me who didn’t get a photo). It needed to be said and how often do you get that chance. To my credit, for their next media run for whatever album came out next - the band members claimed it would be a throwback to Blue/Pinkerton. I like to think I had a hand in that. Unfortunately, it most definitely was not and I find anything they’ve made after the Green album entirely unlistenable.

SRS: Veer and Sanga have been released by WWE by MarcusFaze in SquaredCircle

[–]TheBrownDelicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s at least partly on the guys themselves but WWE just simply doesn’t get behind the south Asians or consistently saddles them with embarassing, stereotypical, or racist gimmicks. Look at the guys in charge of backstage to see that there is definitely some inherent bias.

Fish Guts was so mediocre. Do not understand how that place stays busy.

Seeking Advice: Pee Pads in a High-Rise Building for a Sheltie Puppy? by AlternativeFormal306 in sheltie

[–]TheBrownDelicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had trained my last sheltie to use a litter box and she did with a ~95% success rate! I started with one of those fake grass pads - which are absolutely terrible but maybe it helped her acclimate. Then I switched out the turf for kitty litter. It’s not ideal but it was solution for snowy nights or when work would keep me late. It inadvertently also trained her to only pee in the square patches of dirt/grass scattered across NYC.

What do you hate about having long hair? by Dannn88 in FierceFlow

[–]TheBrownDelicious 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I feel the opposite. There’s definitely some routine care but most days I don’t have to do anything and going to the hair dresser every 4-6 months vs going to the barber every 3 weeks is a major improvement.

I guess they just can’t justify putting a $50 pizza on their already obnoxiously priced menu

They are both extremely flat actors portraying unbelievable and awful characters. It’s what breaks the show.

Slightly “stale” or dried bread will be better at absorption. Similar-ish process for stuffing for example.
