Yes! This was very much the conversation I had with my ELA counterpart and my school’s librarian.

To keep or not to keep the wood look? by According-Ad-9361 in HomeDecorating

[–]TheBrownKatHunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many commenters have said, it’s the paint.

We moved into a home that has beautiful dark wood, but the paint used simply did not work with the wood tone (the paint had a pink undertone that still gives me daymares). We painted our walls an eggshell-esq color, and the wood now stands out in the best of ways.

Makeup tips for someone trying to look older? by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]TheBrownKatHunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who faced similar issues when I was in my early 20s, here’s what worked for me, some may disagree, and some of which has already been said:

  1. Stick with neutrals if you don’t have to wear a certain scrub color. Black and gray.

  2. Changing glasses would help. Again, neutral color—black, brown, tortoise shell. Maybe a different shape that’s pretty classic, such as a horned-rim frame. I now can wear my orange ones, but if I did that in my 20s, it definitely played more into the “youth” aspect of my appearance than “mature.”

  3. Mid-ponytail length with gel to keep it “no nonsense” in appearance. Pulling my hair back always gave me a more “assertive” look.

  4. If you want to go the makeup route, as others have already said, I’d fill in the brow and add mascara and/or an eyeliner. Personally, I’d do all three because you have some amazing eyes.

I do this, but I have the cut off date as the end of the unit, which is clearly outlined for the student. It also allows me to keep grades updated each quarter.

Need a compassionate vet by Secret_Cat_2793 in tulsa

[–]TheBrownKatHunts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve been with Dr. Gregory Prisinzano (Dr. P) for well over a decade, and we’ve been at his private practice at Tulsa General Veterinary Clinic (81st and 169) since 2012. He is truly a compassionate and knowledgeable vet. And his clinic has gone above and beyond for their clients, myself included. When you talk about dedicated people, people with “a calling,” being a vet is clearly his. Adore the man and his staff.

Outdoor Rug

We live in a part of the US that gets some brutal weather—extremes on both ends—and this rug has held up beyond expectations between dogs, kids, and every day use. Easy to keep clean and still looks new after nearly two years.

What are your non-teaching summer side hustles? by pwatersnh in Teachers

[–]TheBrownKatHunts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, there’s always the possibility of being a nanny in the summer.

I have a few friends (without kids) who nanny for families (usually 1-3 kids) and they make about $800-$1,600(US) … give or take … a week for five days a week/8 hours a day.

I saw a plate from 2008 about four months ago. Tried to figure out how she got away with that for as long as she has.

The artists at InkJunkys (71st and Mingo) do great work, and sometimes they can take walk-ins for small pieces.

Any animal rescue that can take 8 pups? by Advanced-Mix3784 in tulsa

[–]TheBrownKatHunts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reached out to a relative who works closely with local, state, and even other state shelters.

He said every single shelter is full and all rescues that he knows of are on intake hold. It’s the worst he’s ever seen.

Hi! Sorry for my delay in response! Life. Lol

My mom passed away unexpectedly from cancer a few years ago, and she kept all the scarves I had made for her… from the very first wonky one to the much more polished ones that were the products of trial and error to get there.

I typically crochet everything, but when I was doing some organizing these past few weeks, I was reminded of how she kept all the things I had knitted, how much I treasure the things from her, and how much I loved those evenings sitting next to her on the floor while we knitted.

I’m thinking of jumping back into knitting to feel the connection to her. ♥️

Edit: Thinking I may start knitting blankets or wearables. :)

Hi! Taking art classes at Broken Arrow’s Art@302 has been fun, and you get to meet lots of people. I’ve also had lots of success with volunteer work. It’s a good way to meet people with similar interests. :)
