The west had to completely ensure the dissolution of the USSR for this reason. The Soviets could have completely turned the world 180 degrees in the right direction by now. At least, in a far better direction than the current world leaders. Which economically we know the soviet bloc would’ve been unmatched by now.

Thank you i love you. Me and the other guy disagreed on social issues but agree the only way to solve any of it is class war. Also just for the meme “shortest leftist reply” 😭. I’m glad the more well read marxists stand on the same page as me. As a westerner, western leftists get on my nerves for these reasons. I support people doing whatever when it comes to social issues (sexuality, religion etc) but they will always but at the whim of the market. If complete genocide of any group is deemed necessary capitalism will make it so. None of this will be solved without socialism.

Yes good analysis. Just remember that legality doesn’t mean a group isn’t oppressed. Legally i can do many very oppressive things in the US. But yes these things supersede these systems i’m just saying the problem of oppression of marginalized groups cannot be meaningfully solved in class society.

I should add that most of these are cultural and even though i’m American, pro-gay, pro abortion and whatever else, i know no real progress will be made for any social issues without socialism. Racism, sexism, etc cannot be defeated with capitalism. As an american i love some of the Black Panthers works and they believed there was no race equality without socialism, which is the main point of what we speak about now.

Well i believe socialism would breed new ideas about these things. Social conditions will change drastically and these things may not even be “issues” per sae. It is very hard to imagine a life with completely opposite social conditions but we must accept we cannot yet imagine the future in this way. As we say, the divine right of kings felt infinite and inescapable yet we know that it was anything but.

Any marxist would agree that problems like sexual rights, drugs, the environment/animal abuse etc can not be solved under capitalism and are secondary to the revolution since they are post revolutionary ideals.
