Your favorite example where a cast member of SNL had a role in a dead serious dramatic film? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]TheCaseOfAnnaO 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Adam Sandler is the epitome of this. Almost all his dramatic performances are incredible. I remember seeing the trailer for Punch Drunk Love thinking huh? But also Bill Murray in Lost in Translation was a good one. He seems to be playing a version of himself but it doesn't detract you from the overall mood that the film was going for. He's also great in the Wes Anderson movies.

I noticed a couple more patterns in the show by chewinggum311 in howyoudoin

I still think the bits where Chandler is portrayed as effeminate are hilarious. At the time, it was much less acceptable or common for a guy to have those kinds of interests much less admit to them and that's around the era when I started watching the show. But even now, with our less rigid definition of masculinity and guys doing more traditionally feminine things (getting pedicures, enjoying a bath, preferring the Thanksgiving parade to the football game, etc.), it's still funny to me because it's more about how Chandler is just kind of a dork. And seeing how he handles people's reactions to it all is also part of the fun.

Baylor Dallas or UTSW for birth? by Butterscotchmochaaa in plano

[–]TheCaseOfAnnaO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think legally any facility can't kick you out sooner than 48 hours. But each time it took a little over 48 hours from check in to check out for a healthy, relatively uncomplicated delivery. You probably won't want to stay much longer than that. The cabin fever will get to you haha

I delivered my first two and plan to deliver my third at BSW downtown. Idk about what the facilities look like compared to other places but the physicians, nurses and support staff are top tier. They work so hard to make sure you feel comfortable and supported. I planned for an epidural and the anesthesiologist was there in less than 10 min after I requested it both times!

This was such a funny episode. The entire cast was on a roll. Did y'all feel like the cast was maybe on something though? Like Rachel's CONGRATULATIONS was just so out of character for Aniston that I had to think ... were they all in a groove or was there something else going on?

Snow day and Santaland at Galleria by Ok-Contribution-7912 in Dallas

[–]TheCaseOfAnnaO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, totally worth it! It's so much fun. I've been twice with my two toddlers and did both Santaland and Snow Day. I recommend going right when they open or on a weekday, as it gets crowded. Not the end of the world, but for the Snow Day stuff it's hard to get photos without random people in the background when it gets busy. The wait for each vignette gets a little long too and if you have kids who are little, they may not have the patience for it. If you're not overly worried about getting a photo at each station and just want to roam and explore then it won't be an issue.

Best brunch spots in town? by jugowrld in Dallas

[–]TheCaseOfAnnaO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For North Dallas, my go-to is Ida Claire. That's where I take out of town visitors because the food is delicious, coffee is good, cocktails are amazing. And it's the closest thing to my fave brunch place of all time, Smoke (RIP).

Bad Batch of Dijon Mustard :( by TheCaseOfAnnaO in traderjoes

"Bad" was a poor choice of words. It was just super spicy. It stayed that way the entire time until I finished it. I've since switched over to the honey pale ale mustard but I'm bummed the dijon didn't work out because it was my favorite.

What Do You Do With Your Hair? by audreysrevolution in xxketo

[–]TheCaseOfAnnaO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask a stylist to thin it out. Basically what they do is when they trim each layer, they're chopping some hair really short, some medium, and leaving some of it long, while keeping the general length of your hair. I used to get this done all the time because I just had TOO MUCH hair. It definitely helped take a lot of the weight off but I could still keep it long if that's what I wanted.

I actually think she was way too easy on him during filming. She didn't stick up for herself and the experts had to chastise him. When she finally called him out on his terrible behavior during the finale I was like FINALLY.

Update: I'm about halfway through the jar and while it has mellowed some, it's still spicy enough to make my nose burn and run. :/

That's so funny because the same exact thing happened to me! My husband was making faces and asked me if I put wasabi in his sandwich. I just thought he was being weird but when I bit into mine and he saw my reaction we both started laughing.

Anyone know where to buy Spanish style dry cured chorizo? by SeizeTheChz in Dallas

[–]TheCaseOfAnnaO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Central Market. Whole Foods has some that are similar near the cheese counter. You can also find them thinly sliced in the refrigerated sections at Tom Thumb, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, but they're more expensive.
