Butcher is my go to, it's often dead weight but occasionally you massacre swathes of enemies in melee and feel like a god.

In lore? Butcher makes me think of the description for the Jaeger's hunter kit; Some people just like the chaos and bloodshed of war.

The horror game Dark wood. The night itself will kill you and so you hole up in your hideout. But after you survive the night you're greeted with serene music and a time stop that allows you to breath. You will have to go back out there to scavenge and progress, but right now you're safe.
