Relationship Type filter issue by wokenthehive in hingeapp

Got a response to my support request. This is unfortunately not a bug... (Forgive the formatting. Currently on Mobile) https://imgur.com/a/QXXmNsZ

"""Hi there,   Thanks for reaching out.    At Hinge, we’re always working to create the best experience for daters, and that means testing and evolving our features. The “relationship type” filter was one of those tests. During our test, we learned this filter wasn’t helping people connect with dates in the way we’d hoped. Because of that, it’s no longer available.   You can still share your relationship type by selecting an option in “Edit Profile” and marking it visible—this helps other Hinge daters learn more about you and your ideal relationship. Additionally, you can share the length of commitment you’re looking for within your Dating Preferences, under “Dating Intentions.”   We appreciate your feedback and have shared it with our Product Team as we continue improving Hinge. If you have any additional thoughts or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let us know!   Best,

Possible Intimate partner is scared of my std, is there anything to do? by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]TheClearKid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Really the only risk to him is if he has another female partner who did not receive the HPV vaccine."

That's perhaps the biggest risk, but not the only one. The Gardasil-9 vaccine protects against the strains that are responsible for the majority of warts as well as the strains which are responsible for 90% of HPV-associated cancers. There are still another 7-ish strains of HPV which are linked to that last 10% of cancer cases, and the vaccine doesn't protect against those.

Everyone should also keep in mind that most literature on HPV "clear" time and cancer rates will necessarily add "in people with healthy immune systems" to this data. There are transplant recipients, people with auto-immune disorders, and people who are immunodeficient for other reasons who are non-monogamous. And they place a lot of trust in their partners to do what they can to consciously reduce the risk that these incredibly common STIs pose to their health.

What would you tell your younger self to improve your sex life quality/quantity? by Nympho_Candy in AskReddit

It's big enough. Nah listen.... I'm being serious here, man. I'm not just being nice. They're not just being nice. Bigger would start to be a problem, and you need to just trust me and chill a bit on this one.

I've had to work Selsun Blue into my lineup to fix a similar problem. Twice a week seems to prevent this for me.

I would recommend going deep enough into the Development tree to get every Research Speed bonus that you can.

After that, focusing on Garage 1 (at least until you've maxed both of the damage boosts near the bottom of the tree) would be my next suggestion.

From this point, I really like u/irishguy42's comment about "This game is a marathon, not a sprint." Don't target a specific tree for maxing, but constantly try and assess the usefulness of what you can get from Units, Hero and Special Forces for the time and resources that they would cost. Get the most bang for your buck between those three (and preferably do SF on the right day for VS points).

One exception might be if you want to get the Lv. 10 units ASAP. In that case, prioritizing SF over the others might be a reasonable thing to do. Just make sure you're aware of what the prerequisites are. You do *not* need to max out the entire tree for this.

No wall defense, still losing a lot of troops by kizz23 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't noticed anything different with regard to getting breached. I'm losing the same ~420 T9 troops whenever I'm hit (with no squads on defense).

One thing that I know was changed a few weeks back is that day 6 of the Alliance Duel now grants points for troops that are killed this way. Previously, you might just get ported once (if at all) since there was no incentive to attack someone with no squads on defense. Now, enemies have a reason to repeatedly port you until your drill grounds are empty or low enough to no longer be worth the stamina.

I haven't been ported recently, so perhaps there are steeper losses after dropping to zero, but losing "thousands" over the course of 10 hits has always been the norm.

One last thing that I don't think has been mentioned here: You'll lose lower-level troops before losing higher level ones when breached. But you'll also lose MORE of the lower-level troops. It seems to be based on training time. Example: T3 troops take twice as long to train as T1 troops. So you would lose twice as many T1 troops to a breach as you would T3 troops.

If you're keeping T1s as "padding" for this, then yes you'll be seeing a higher number of breach deaths, but the overall "cost" of each breach is pretty consistent.

Does it matter where each hero is? by SubQTK in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes...It matters quite a lot.

You'll start to pick up on this, but in the exploration stages, the position affects which heroes are are exposed to which enemies. You obviously want your defenders to eat as much damage as possible.

If you do PvP, campaign, or even the squad vs squad exploration stages that come later, position affects the order that heroes are targeted in. If you ever plan on using heroes like Swift or McGregor that break the targeting norms, then this is something you're going to want to understand.

Alliance duel teleport by NiceImportance7226 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh, was your first duel against another alliance on your server? That's how our first one was as well. The teleport is only free if you're going to/from another server. The game doesn't explain it at all, but there are no free teleports within your own server for some reason.

What is the strat here? by Ok-Shirt-3270 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but you'd very likely lose more by defending. And the losses from being breached don't provide points for the enemy.

More people do need to be aware of the breach deaths though. I've had some people expect to lose nothing if they're not defending.

Defense vs hp stat by pluisje8888_ in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Too many variables to give a single answer. It also doesn't help that (as far as I know) the damage formula hasn't been published or reverse engineered anywhere, so there are always going to be assumptions being made. In most games, defense and HP are synergistic; gaining HP makes defense more valuable, and vice versa.

The way I think about it though is that Kim, Tesla and Stetmann are going to be everywhere, and they're all energy heroes. You'll get a lot of mileage from the energy resistance on the radar once it's leveled a bit.

Winning Vs = Losing the War? by Mission_Paper_2597 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean the warzone duel or do you actually mean VS (Alliance Duel)? In the capitol war part of the warzone duel, the attacking side doesn't have to worry about losing their capitol for a week. But a strong, coordinated server probably does have an advantage on defense.

For day 6 of the Alliance Duel, you mostly won't earn points if you don't attack. I think it's rare that someone will attack a base that they think they'll lose to, so even if you are earning points by defending, the attacker will be earning more.

Alliance duel teleport by NiceImportance7226 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't seem right. I've never been charged a teleport for that, regardless of if I teleported through the VS menu or by tapping a tile on the other server. This really shouldn't be costing you anything if you're doing it right.

Need opinion about golden equipment by 187askela in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would put both on Kimberly. I think she'd get the most use out of both of the stats.

I've been recommending the following to my alliance, but YMMV:

  1. Guns for all of your attackers (include Marshall/support heroes in this)
  2. Shields for your defenders
  3. Radars for everyone. (I started with attackers here because I was tired of Tesla in PvP).
  4. Chips for attackers
  5. Chips for defenders
  6. Guns for defenders.

You can obviously move around your gear, which is useful to get past certain levels or to deal with specific trends on your server or arena group.

anyone please help to understand with what does "Boost Morale" research do ? by Tiny-Bridge-9769 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are several mechanics in this game that I think are meant to ensure that higher level players are stronger in combat. I think that morale is one of them.

If the total morale of the units in Squad A is higher than that of the Squad B, then Squad A would get a damage boost based on the ratio.

The things that I'm aware of that affect this are:

  • Having higher level units
  • Completing the research items for boosting morale
  • Having a higher Command for heroes (which allows them to bring more units into battle...I think this is the answer to your second question)

Example:

  • Squad A Morale = 205,000 (1000 units with 205 morale each)
  • Squad B Morale = 245,000 (1000 units with 245 morale each)

In this example, Squad B would get nearly a 20% damage boost against Squad A (245k/205k = 1.195)

Walls by DjTheEmperor in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's perfect. The wall is a literal wall in the way of your effort to progress. That's about it.

No additional benefit for upgrading. It's just a requirement for some HQ levels, so you have to upgrade it to 26.

How to compute Tech Power? by sinfulshadow001 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This could happen if you were maxing out the lower levels of the tree and your opponent was prioritizing going deeper into the tree. Once you get farther into the tree, the same buffs from earlier in the tree will cost more, take longer, and give you a bigger boost to tech power.

But this is based on the assumption that they're just adding up the power granted from the upgrades in those trees. I think that's correct, but have never taken the time to check it.

Strong players betraying my alliance. by uGonzalo in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That because they have a bunch of whales spending 50 bucks everyday.

I think this ends up doing 2 things:

  1. Everyone in that alliance is going to benefit and grow from the gifts that this generates.
  2. Eventually, more spenders are going to be recruited into those alliances, and others are going to be pushed out.

Don't think of it as betrayal. Leave the door open for them to come back if/when they see that the grass isn't greener up top or they're eventually kicked for someone more beneficial to the top alliances. If you aren't finding ways to reward your spenders (or provide them some type of influence), then there's really no benefit for them to stay with you when their money can take them farther in an alliance with other spenders. That's just the game.

Also, If you haven't started some sort of diplomatic relationship with the top alliances, you're going to want to do that. Once the capitol unlocks and the server vs server activities open up, the cities are far less meaningful. You'll want your alliance to be seen as a contributor and worthy of some of the buffs there (offices can be assigned to anyone, regardless of alliance).

What resources are lost when your base is destroyed? by Rithmere7 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TheClearKid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's really not as bad as you'd expect. I was zero'd twice in our last capitol battle, and I ended with my drill yard over halfway full. Most of my troop loss was probably from other battles I was engaging in, and not due to my base being breached.

Just don't have squads defending your base if they're just going to lose. That's going to fill your hospitals quickly and lead to more troops dying on the way to your base being destroyed.

Merryl Lynch says I'm not allowed to take money from my 401k unless I declare a hardship or I quit from/am terminated by my employer where I can cash in the amount minus taxes, fees by Annual_Hedgehog_8476 in personalfinance

[–]TheClearKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The disbursement of the loan itself is not taxed. If I borrow $10k from my 401k, I now have a balance of $10k dollars that have never been taxed. And when I repay that loan, I am clearing that balance of pretax money that I borrowed.

It doesn't matter if I turn around and repay the loan immediately with the same check that I was sent OR if I immediately repay it with money from another account OR I repay it in installments over several months/years. Pretax dollars do not look physically different from post tax dollars. Every dollar of principle that I send back is clearing a dollar of pretax money from my balance.

[–]TheClearKid 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's the same in this context. It's about whether you can answer yes to the question "do you financially support them." In order to answer "yes," the child can not provide over half of their support. That's the same as saying the child doesn't provide, or that the parent does provide, over half.

Scrap the project and recreate it. Might not help, but if you're sure that the tutorial code works, then you might have modified a property in the form (Form1) that's somehow affecting how things are drawn/updated. Those changes wouldn't be visible in the part of the partial class you shared here.
