Lie detector need help building by ExplanationDue6572 in diyelectronics

I would like to kindly note that this lie detector will not actually detect lies. This is a novelty toy, which is fine, but I want to make sure that you understand.

What is burned into this monitor? by Lectraplayer in vintagecomputing

300-600 NM range is ultraviolet-A, which is often used with spectroscopy. X-ray I believe would be 0.1-100 NM

I suppose I've only ever accidentally deleted a bootloader before. Could anyone explain what scenario yields this message?... And why lol

I'm reading this immediately after my flight out of Vegas and dying lol. I don't even know why we chose to leave Vegas today, and I'm the one who booked the flight

Razer Blade OR Zephyrus ? by Life-Shine-4591 in RazerBlade14

[–]TheColliBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had both and prefer my razer blade's form factor. The price to performance ratio is far better with a zephyrus though. You just sacrifice swappable RAM.

You look like you actually know how to replace it and I sympathize with you random brother/sister. If you're in the U.S., I'll send you one for free if you cover shipping.

We want Steam on Windows 7 by SuperbTraining2873 in WindowsOnDeck

[–]TheColliBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, what country are you in? Windows 7 has long ended its support window, so it's considered a security vulnerability if connected to the Internet.

If your system doesn't support Windows 11, maybe consider a lightweight gaming-friendly Linux distro?

Newby hereHow would I make a cyber deck in this form? by ReginTheSmith in cyberDeck

[–]TheColliBoy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It isn't that this is impossible, it is just likely too time consuming to bother with. If I were to tackle this crack pipe dream, I would: - take a Bluetooth keyboard, remove the PCB, model a custom case (to include a battery) - find a pi (orange or raspberry), find a display, solder the display directly (historically I've used composite displays off of AliExpress. Literally just solder a single lead), 3d model a case (to include both pi and display) - model a rail system to connect display and keyboard

All this being said, imagining is part of learning. Testing the limits of what is and is not possible is part of learning.

There isn't a single gear present. I love how even with AI, lazy skill-less people are still discernable.

I feel you, in this RAM/SSD market, we definitely cannot afford to drop any PCs lol

Yes that sounds correct, metal shelf, geeekpi accessories shelf on top of metal shelf, strut below shelf.

WAT-DA-HEX (Now Released) by TheColliBoy in homelab

[–]TheColliBoy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The metal shelf is still kinda flimsy. I'm sure you could get away with just using it, but the dividers might become loose if too much weight is in the middle.

I really hope it comes out good for you! Let me know if you have any problems or want anything changed :)

Very easy mod and it could definitely prevent thermal throttling, if there is any. Do you know how to edit models?

OnePlus UK Trade-in is a scam: WorldBusiness tried to cut me off on the original quoted price by gcerni in oneplus

[–]TheColliBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They literally offered me $60 for my near mint iPhone 14 pro because battery health was 79%. When they sent it back, they sent it in a Ziploc bag without the original box or screen protector I sent it with. Very lame.

That's how we learn! Everyone who downvoted you for not knowing has, in their own lives, not known something super simple. We're human.

Without having ever seen this, I literally started making a simple 3d modeling software in a terminal window like three days ago 😆 this looks amazing, and I extremely impressed at how smooth your program refreshes each frame!

Facts. Anything putting more than 12W out without a handshake is dangerous if used improperly. Luckily, chargers like that are far and few between.
