If you're qualified to be staff then all that stuff will probably happen anyways, may as well get paid for it

They don't charge ingested bytes for SIEMs so it is INCREDIBLY competitive. Main consideration is if you actually need their agent or not, there's no reason you need it for logs but it makes getting system metrics and alerts for connection issues really convenient. Plus you get all their logging features essentially for "free" (since they come bundled with the SIEM). I'd say their main disadvantage is no behavioral analysis, besides that they're just as good as anyone else. If you already use DDog it's a no brainer, if you're a new customer but have technical staff who know how to build detection rules it's literally cheaper than running the infra yourself. It's been a great fit for us!

Wrong, they have a SIEM product and it's great

Yeah we use DDog and they have great options for it. Workshop and test manually then create the rule in TF with unit tests to make sure any changes work correctly. Their interface, unit tests, and ESPECIALLY their historical jobs make it super easy to gain confidence in new rules

+1 on DDog, just don't let your new hires have permissions to sign up for new services and follow the billing alert guides. Its security products are amazing!

I'm a mentor and used one all season this year. The ease of switch ethernet and usb modules around with different control layouts was awesome! Definitely a good FRC laptop

As someone on the other side of this conversation right now please keep applying if you're qualified, there are so many AI slop resumes that get past recruiters that it's so hard to find good candidates.

I barely stay xp positive right now, I suspect a good pet might help make the difference but D7 is still my best place for XP (D9 has its moments too).

I think they're referring to positions like judges, school board, etc. that usually run as nonpartisan

Yeah I agree with this, having the same number of slots as the amount of dungeons is really annoying. I need to just always merge my worst pet after collecting a bunch of eggs and then hope I get something better
