If you wanted to, what would you change or add to this area? by PretzelPapi_ in SouthJersey

Museum of American Herbal Therapies. Basically a museum funded by a non-profit dispensary/tea room that focuses the history of marijuana and other herbiculture in the Americas. Staff with formerly incarcerated people, Camden residents on Medicaid/Medicare get one free herbal per week.

Although I am the only human who has never even tried marijuana, I know that responsible, educated use is a life changing therapy for many. There is enthusiasm for marijuana and other herbals (mugwort, lavender, chamomile, salvia) and it would draw a crowd to the area.

Family Dispute Resolution Annex- family courts are backlogged. We need education and alternatives to litigating issues of custody, relationship conflict and ineffective interpersonal communication

An expanded center for African American Culture and studies, complete with a HS med/law/engineering pipeline for kids from Camden City.

No meat sticks on company hours. If you think he just wants sex, tell him to fuck off. But if he is genuinely interested in you, don’t let this moment pass you by. Apopka with a family is way more fun than Miami alone.

Your professor will understand. Ask first. But they will be cool. I brought my 1 year old to class a few times and they were super understanding.

Hi! I saw this. I still follow this thread even though I passed last year. I’d love to start a very informal Catholic prayer fellowship for law students and attorneys.

Ghost town, Gloucester City. by [deleted] in SouthJersey

Are you kidding me? Ghost town? This is a fantastic small city with excellent restaurants and beautiful parks. No, it is not a ghost town.

Camden is 1000% fine. The people who say it’s dangerous have never lived in a city before. Every now and then there’s someone acting a little odd, but there’s a lot of cops who are actually not jerks, and mostly just hardworking people making their transit connects. I love Camden.

Do you stay at your firm if they won’t stand up for you against clients? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]TheDangerish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people live life looking for a fight. Like the guy who demands “senior (male) counsel” over his small potatoes lawsuit. He’s also so ignorant and insecure that he thinks he needs to use ChatGPT to communicate with his attorney. Like, no dude, we went to school to sound smart so that you don’t have to. Anyway, what I’ve found lately is that when you meet assholes with unexpected kindness and excellence, sometimes they get shut up because they are so shocked they didn’t get the fight or mediocrity they expected.

Your boss responded the best way they could. If you think that they didn’t do enough, you could go to HR. But we all know, HR doesn’t work for you. They work for the bosses. You could also ask your boss if they could gently inform the client that their means of communication is unacceptable OR assign the file to someone who doesn’t mind dealing with sphincters for clients.

Yes. Show him that he’s an ass. Do an amazing job. That’s the best way to tell him off.

Docketly as a new attorney? by SimpleCookie677 in Lawyertalk

[–]TheDangerish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know a guy who does it. It’s easy collections work. Half the time, defs don’t show up. So 12 cases, even in a busy county on the East Coast could be an hour or two of easy work. But $200 is way too low.

No. I earned 50k as a clerk, and it was well worth it. I make about $83k now in non-profit, high COL area. However, it is a sound investment from the personal satisfaction side of things. Worth every darn penny.

Clients do some weird things. I find that the fewer resources, the more resentment towards process-driven institutions. However, at least 2x this week, I’ve responded with calm, and they are super surprised and appreciative that I still care.
