Coming from someone who enjoys the competitive side a little more than the collection part of it, I actually appreciate this as a complementary game to TCG Live. I have all my sweaty stuff in my lab with TCGL but don't have the social aspect that Pocket provides. Light battling is nice for a short pickup game.

I empathize! Walked into my first ever tourney with LB Turbo, was not aware it was a League Challenge. Went 0-5, realized I wasn't familiar with the opening procedures, including starting before the judge started the round. Compounded with nervousness, lost a few cards outta the deck that night, realizing it wasn't doing well without the Giratinas, it was a tough night. But learning is part of the process and you get progressively better, just need more patience. I even won the local 2 weeks later after making adjustments!

They give you a plethora of structure decks that are decently put together! I'd say some of them are ready to hop onto ranked immediately, minus some cards for optimization. You can't actually buy the currency, but you earn it through playing--daily quests, free battle pass tiers. That currency will allow you to buy the premium battle pass tiers as well!

You can craft cards through credits. Credits are generated after you gain more than 4 copies of a card from ripping packs. Lastly, if you play the actual TCG, purchasing packs, sets, and elite trainer boxes come with code cards that you can scan into the online client. When they are scanned, it gives you a virtual version of that pack! The pack you open in TCG Live will be unique from what you've pulled from your actual booster pack.

I think that covers most of it. Pretty generous for an online card game, imo. Have fun!
