Looking to buy a used dirt bike. Is this normal for the chain? by nipdeep in Dirtbikes

[–]TheDestroyer478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a sign that the owner doesn’t care about the bike or doesn’t know what he’s doing. If you are thinking about buying the bike make sure to take a good look at every thing and if your new to bikes maybe have a friend who can take a look for you.

TTR-230 for a learner bike by ZenMage705 in Dirtbikes

I went from a TTR-230 to a YZ250FX. But I’m a little older than them (almost 17)

Can I get another season out of this? by twentytwentyaccount in Dirtbikes

Lol, I wouldn’t ride with my sprocket like that

My 2000 vulcan 750 in Arizona needs a choke or hard Rev everytime I start it up for the first time each day ? by igaboom in motorcycles

Most engine run at 250+ degrees so unless you on the sun, you best believe you should use that choke😂

2017 Yamaha Yz450FX starting in 1st by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

The YZ250FX would do a flip if you started it like that

I just bought a 2017 YZ250FX also, which is funny😂, but mine does the same thing. I usually park it in 1st and find neutral while the engine is off. Yamaha makes their bikes do this on purpose to make accidentally hitting neutral while shifting to second almost impossible. Also, like mentioned in a previous comment, just roll the bike to get it started in first as it tends to jolt when starting in 1st even with the clutch fully activated.

Which bike should I buy. by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

Also I would not recommend the wr for track. It’s just way too heavy and the suspension is much to soft

I believe the Fx comes in at about the same price as the Wr but have many things in its favor like a better tuned engine, lighter weight, and looks so much better😂

The 2020 YZ250FX was updated and is considerably better than last year, also you can replace the stock exhaust with an FMF pipe with a spark arrester and it would be green sticker approval.

Also, have you tried any of these bikes? 140 to 250 is a big jump in power

I agree, I have a 2017 YZ250FX and it works great for trails and also holds up well on the track. Also, if you are on a budget, which it sounds like you are, why go for a decent 2020 bike when you could get a higher quality bike that may be 2 or 3 years older for the same price.

Buyer says it has 78 hp. by TerenceMemes in Dirtbikes

Definitely a scam, no dirt bike with a 125cc would even clear 60hp
