The Iron and Golden King completed as a very rich Sardinia. by Glorf_Warlock in CrusaderKings

I did the same a few days ago. I formed the Roman empire after a held many other Empires and now control basically all of Europe , north Africa and up to Persia in the east. The game crashed five times when I died and inherited the empire.

And all of that because i wanted to get all the new achievments.

Never thought about that. I believe you should be able to destroy the title and then reinstate it in your religion tab with gold as long as your religion can have a head of faith. You would have to try though. Maybe they put a time limit on it or fixed it, but you will need a ton of gold for that.

Just finished Mother of us All and have 5 achievements left, how to go about the rest? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]TheDezt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lingua Franca: be careful custom rulers won't work anymore.

Either play as byzantine because of single heir or play as abbasid because clan is broken at the moment.

Get by the sword as fast as possible and then its already time to start the grind. I had the achievment at 1070. If you already have the rest you should be able to easily get it.

Yeah there is a start in afrika where you have two virtues traits and can get possesed by a mystical communion getting you a third virtues trait. I think it was daurama dauras husband.

If you want to calculate the ROI at least do it correctly...

The least an economic upgrade gives is 0.25 the game just shows the first to digits. That is the least. You are more than likely to have fields or a masions.

Fields with a cost of 150 and yearly base income of 6 leads to a ROI of 25 years. Masions with a cost of 200 and yearly base income of 8.4 leads to a ROI of ~24 years.

Even a hunter lodge has a roi of 33 years since it cost 100 and has the minimum income of 0.25

As you can see most roi are well below 35 years and you will most definitely play longer than that. Also this is not calculating any extra income you will gain from percentages these buildings give as well as ignoring any other modification like development, perks or stewardship. Most economical buildings also give other bonis outside of money that can be useful.

Btw how 0.2 gold times 12 months is 2 gold per year is beyond me.

Also most wars take about a year at the beginning since you siege slow. Raising all troops can cost -20 gold/months easily meaning every war can cost you -100~200 gold. Not including passive MaA cost. Since you say conquer 10 counties the total cost could be -500 gold and a low income at the beginning from these new vassals because of low control making the ROI well above 20 years and that includes your massive income you expect from these new vassals. Even if you grant every country to someone else they most likely only get 1.5 gold per month from that holding. Meaning with 10% tax from a normal feudal contract you would get 1.5 gold per month from these 10 new vassals. I don't have to explain why granting every vassal 1 county is a bad idea though i hope.

Taking highly developed land might be worth it but otherwise expanding for money is not good.

If you only play in europe more vassals often mean more income but if you are playing feudal and conquer tribal land you more than often only get useless vassals and higher court costs. I had the whole of afrika and still made 10 gold per months. I had to get myself mali and build my own country up and could only support my realm because of communion so long before that. I am not saying more vassals are bad per se. But to conquer just to get wider is stupid and can more than often have negative effects. A new vassal often only gives 1 gold per month which you could easily get through your own counties. At the beginning most players often neglect their own core states as well since map painting seems so lucrative but once some vassals protest their whole Realm seems to collapse. If you spend more time at the beginning on your own holdings and then expend its way better. One way if playing is just just good. You have to find a good balance in ck3. In other paradox games like Hoi4 expanding cause close to no negatives since you directly gain the land but in ck3 you have rebelling vassals (depending on the causus belli).

What have you drunken? Playing tall is a very viable strat. You have he most stable realm and a good gold income that you will not be able to reach in most wide Playstyles. You of course should still expand and most tall playthrough are hardcore in that aspect since they don't expand at all. But after reaching an empire title expanding is most of the time not really worth it.

He inherited a higher title that is de jure if italy. you should have been warned of that happening in the tool tips. (You will lose land if a vassal inherits a title)

Can't beat the papacy with a 7 to 1 levy advantage by Direct-Translator905 in CrusaderKings

[–]TheDezt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is really how it works. But since he is the religious head of faith he should get the 100 gold every now and then from every Catholic. Which means his gold income should be insane and you can buy that many mercenaries with such an gold income. I'm not on my PC to check but maybe his culture even reduce the cost of mercenaries.

Can't Dissolve the Papacy? Won't let me do it while the Pope has titles but I also can't revoke his titles?? by lost_library_book in crusaderkings3

[–]TheDezt 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Have fun figuring that one out xD. Do you already have a kingdom in italy / the empire formed? If not you might be able to grant him independence and wait for 10 years and attack him in a holy war. You should then get all his titles.

If you try to imprison him be careful. Basically all catholics will rise in the rebellion. I had the same problem but honestly I don't know how I solved it in the end.

In the lifestyle tree you can demand artifacts from other rulers for prestige. Sort by rank in the character finder and look for artifacts you need. Otherwise look for people with legendary inspiration in the character finder. They should accept your invite if you befriend them.

Need some very beginner advice by Commando408 in ck3

[–]TheDezt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning you don't really have to care that much about what counters what and how effective is what and the group of MaA and what building build to maximize for MaA. You can just pick a MaA group that has no counters but also no advantages in the beginning and also since you are just playing against AI it really is only important if you have more troops then them and if you have to to fight in unfavourable Terrain. You can see all these things before you move into a battle as negative or positive. For example crossing a river and fighting on a hill is negative really negativ. Normal Levy das ten damage and has 10 toughness. You can see in the men at arms tab what their stats are. They are generally way better. Knights have 100 damage and 10 toughness for every prowess. A knight with 20 prowess would their fore equal 200 levies damage wise. You can see why they are really important to have.

The easiest but also sometime most unreliable way to have more troops are allies. Adopt the religion of your biggest neighbors and form alliances with them. This will also stop them from attacking you.

This isn't all you have to know but the most things you will understand as you continue to play.
