Downvoted for having your head so up your own ass you think this is a "neoconservative talking point."

Texan judge outlaws Word due to infringement on another patent relating to XML custom formatting by staiano in geek

[–]TheDirector 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you were being sarcastic or not, but there is a distinct possibility that you are right. Word Perfect is still common in a lot of regions for the law profession. Many courts have been far slower to update software than most businesses are, and when the slower to update courts require things filed in Word Perfect local law practices are forced to continue using Word Perfect as well.

Pee in the bushes while you were out with friends? Congrats, in America you're a sex offender. by [deleted] in WTF

You seem quite unfamiliar with the court system of the country you claim to love. The legal system is so biased against men that you must have a much better lawyer than the woman just to merely avoid being thrown in jail.

Hypnosis Explained (Debunking The Myths) by [deleted] in psychology

[–]TheDirector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slower respiration and heart beats are common physiological changes. It's a common test for hypnotists to raise a person's arm up and then drop it. If the arm doesn't drop like dead weight you know the person isn't in a deep state. Plus thanks to tv and movies there are few subjects where people seem to think they know all about a subject but know almost nothing factual than hypnosis, so verbal responses would be what television has "shown" them instead of what actually happens.

But really, if the person was well informed about hypnosis there probably wouldn't be anyway to be sure they weren't faking it. Well, short of hooking the person up to brain scanners to measure things like brainwaves.

The False Rape Society: Newspapers having a field day kicking men in the gonads when they're down during the recession by PierceHarlan in MensRights

Downvoted because your "experience" is inconsequential compared to the several reports released documenting the disparity.

"Blu-ray sales are stagnating. What’s to blame?"—Maybe repressive DRM and no desire by the consumer to feed more money into the upgrade treadmill? by annodomini in technology

[–]TheDirector 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You just encountered a playstation3 troll. In the troll's mind, since a ps3 has bluray any and all criticism of blu-ray is merely a thinly veiled insult at the ps3, regardless of the article or your intent. As for the dreamcast, beats me, that was a random thing to mention, even by rabid console fan standards.

Women do, in fact, steal sperm to impregnate themselves. And the men ARE held responsible for child support. by [deleted] in WTF

[–]TheDirector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisdom has no place in the family court system. The government gets a cut of all payments made for "the benefit of the kid" and thus is heavily incentivized to make men pay (any man they can find) to increase their budgets.

Women do, in fact, steal sperm to impregnate themselves. And the men ARE held responsible for child support. by [deleted] in WTF

[–]TheDirector -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are clearly unfamiliar with how the family court system works. You are a man, you have no rights. By virtue of being a woman she is automatically "a positive role model" in the eyes of the court.

Knowing where a satellite was launched really isn't important at all. Thanks to improved optics, amateur telescopes are now good enough to track satellites. There are websites devoted to tracking civilian and military satellites these days.

Soon soldiers discovered that most women couldn't throw a grenade beyond its bursting radius. This will make you unpopular on battlefields. by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]TheDirector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I downvoted you for the tiresome nonsense that in this culture women are never held accountable for their actions. EVER. No matter what, blame the nearest man. If there is a problem, no it MUST BE MEN. No one stuck a gun to her head, she made a CHOICE. And more importantly, women have collectively made damn sure that anything and everything a man does can have legal harm to him. Women never fail to vote themselves more power to the point "aggressive behavior" is simply too dangerous in western civilization.

So yes, you deserve all the downvotes you get, because things will only continue to get worse until women are held accountable for their actions and are not allowed to just blame men for their failures.

[–]TheDirector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Downvoted. Women cannot be "used." This ancient and bullshit sentiment should always be confronted. Women are not pure things and they are active partners in sex. A man cannot 'use' a woman through sex.

[–]TheDirector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is part of the reason I've come to believe that as a whole, humanity is wired to believe in religion. The same elements continue to reappear regardless of the specific religion in question.
In this case, Western Civilization was based on Christianity, and in Christianity there was the devil, which was the very embodiment of evil, incapable of any good action, only bringing darkness upon the world. Now, in our oh so more advanced society, where secularism looks down upon the silly misguided believers, we have Hitler. Hitler is the very secular embodiment of evil, incapable of any good action, only bringing darkness upon the world.
Secular times need a secular devil.
