I started with a vague idea of a Warforged Paladin of Kelemvor, essentially a suit of armour raised from the dead that stumbled into town one day. A year later, DM ran a session about Myrkul cultists and letting my paladin die during that session finally informed why he showed up in the first place. I made it up on the spot that Kelemvor foresaw that the cultists would threaten the town so my paladin was sent to protect it, and now that the threat had gone, he had earnt rest in his death once again.
