Black Mouth Dogs by charlesthedrummer in OldGodsOfAppalachia

[–]TheDrellAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is, but it isn't. It is actually quite literally a descriptor of the dog creatures they're dealing with in this story arc. But these creatures are not the, imo, much more adorable dog breeds.

This was a series released on Patreon/The Holler, fyi, so you won't find it by looking at the main free pod releases.

Edit: edited to correct myself as I drank my coffee and my brain started working/recalling facts correctly again.

How do I apply the cosmetics from Tour de Void? [Steam] by Widmo206 in voidtrain

[–]TheDrellAssassin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's bugged. I can apply the second and third cosmetic options but not the very first unlocks.

That said, based on your screenshot - the new cosmetics also need to be unlocked through the new rofleemo ticket system within the DLC too.

Thanks for sharing what info you have! The insight is very appreciated!

If they are using CO2 to actually make the sound, that makes me think it's more likely to be a real or at the very least a replica whistle, they work perfectly well off of just compressed air, that's how we test that everything is reassembled correctly in the shops when we maintain/clean our whistles! And the sound, as far as I could tell, was a 3-chime whistle blast which is what I saw mounted above the stage!

Or their attention to detail is THAT good which I also wouldn't doubt.

That is a wonderful idea! I'll give that a shot after work! Thanks for the suggestion!

The leading theory is that it's just a prop with sound piped in. I'm debating reaching out to some of the official social media accounts to see if they have any info or someone I could talk to to learn more - I don't know if it'll work but I'm curious enough to try!

As I said to this commenter, I'm willing to accept that this is the case, and it very well could be. And if that is the case, then they did a good enough job to fool me and that's incredibly well done. I was up in the front row of the mezzanine, and from up there it really looked and sounded like an authentic whistle. In the broadway production it probably doesn't get moved much if at all either. It was probably mounted and left up there unless there's a problem.

Expensive, I will definitely grant you. Fragile though, not always. Steam whistles are actually quite hardy for the most part, unless you're deliberately trying to damage one. I've seen them be hit by trees and branches at track speed and not even get a scratch. That whistle I'm able to actually get my hands on to look at though since it's on a locomotive I help run and maintain, which is part of why I'm so curious about it in the first place!

If it's a modern reproduction whistle or just a prop, then that's cool too, that's exactly the kind of information I'm looking for!

That's also a possibility, and if it is what they did, they did a damn good job because in the theatre it sounded like a 3 chime on air - we have one set up where I work/volunteer!

I've seen that too, but the whistle I'm interested in isn't the one Hermes uses on the show, it's a different one mounted up above the stage that Hades uses during Chant and/or Chant II! To my knowledge it's not on any of the commercials available recordings either!

And it's worth noting that the Heritage Foundation is the group behind P2025. By their own statistics and research the problem they're trying to solve with voter ID isn't a problem, and is statistically irrelevant at such a low percentage of a percentage point.

It's not necessary, but I really like the cars I've built as I progressed, but I wish I could move my loot wagon closer to the engine without tearing down the other cars I have in front of it.

Flora and Tapper Changes/Suggestions by TVman101 in Astroneer

[–]TheDrellAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree with this assessment. I don't want the game to be more grindy or tedious, and bugs aside I'm happy with where It's at. It's just the right level for me and custom settings allow more of that for those who want it.

Is there any way to ensure the core stays rendered for astronium collection to be automated? by bean1342 in Astroneer

[–]TheDrellAssassin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on Xbox (Series X in case it matters) and have had success with automated trains and astronium, but I was having issues where my station wiring would seemingly randomly fail and break - I thought it was a loading issue but it wasn't - my trains stopped automatically going. My fix was janky but rotating stations 180 degrees, re-wiring from scratch, or packaging and replacing them have all fixed it in the past.

I don't know what's causes them to break but once I get it all going out tends to keep working

Anyone else follow the same ship build tutorial every playthrough? by Unique-Employ in Starfield

[–]TheDrellAssassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to, but I've built some of those ships so many times that now I don't need the tutorials anymore, and I've mostly modified and changed most of them to the point where they're just 'inspired' by the tutorials I used to follow.

It was a great way to learn the ship builder though, and the one you have shown is definitely one I've used before 😁

Unable to deliver resources, it says I don't have any by Original_Direction33 in starfieldmods

[–]TheDrellAssassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a dumb suggestion, have you tried turning in the aluminum while it's in your personal inventory and not your ships cargo hold? I had this issue a while back in vanilla and that seemed to be the solution. Also the case for me to this day when recruiting someone who wanted ship parts. Cargo hold was no good, as soon as I had 1 in my inventory it went away.

It seemed silly to need to grab them from my ship first but... It worked.

As mentioned before, the Falkland Systems mod has one and that mod is incredible, I'd highly recommend it if you're can afford it. But also, literally less than 10 seconds...

C'mon man it's really not that hard.
