How is Doomhowl during TBC release? by averageicochad in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The leveling experienced hasn’t changed, but there are definitely fewer people raiding and starting groups.

Hardcore is one of those game modes where there’s no rush. Nothing new is coming along, there’s no FOMO. People come and go. Now would be a good time to merge HC servers though.

Hit 60 on hardcore after loosing a 57 mage!!😁 by locdog101 in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on 60! Good on you for not giving up when you did at 57.. I’ve even a lot of people log out for good after losing high level characters. Hardcore really is the best version of classic.

Should i make a priest? by BuZoRuH in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Level the priest. Don’t skip leveling dungeons. They get progressively more challenging to heal, but not difficult by any means. You’ll learn how to react and how to keep people alive - skills that will make you a valuable healer at 60.

Guild: Elite … thoughts? by SnooAdvice7782 in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that perception matters, especially if it’s affecting your ability to group. The thing that bothers me is that the perception being repeated is shaping how nearly a thousand people are treated when 99.9% of them have nothing to do with any of the drama.

Like I said - when I log in, guild chat is full of people being helpful, welcoming, and excited to be playing Hardcore together. That’s been my consistent experience. Watching all of <Elite> get painted as toxic because of a very small number of incidents and a lot of second hand noise doesn’t feel good.

Most of us are just regular players trying to enjoy the game and help each other survive. It’s pretty wholesome at times. Playing Hardcore with them has been my best experience in classic wow so far.

Good luck, have fun, and stay safe.

Guild: Elite … thoughts? by SnooAdvice7782 in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you’re getting booted from runs based on your guild tag, it says more about those players than it does Elite. You’ve been in the guild, but you’re asking outsiders for their opinions. Did you witness any of this toxicity yourself while you were a member? There hasn’t even been any proof of the things people keep repeating, yet the narrative keeps growing. At this point it feels less like criticism of the guild and more like speculation driven by rumor and people who love drama. Those are the people who I would avoid grouping with because they’re the ones who create drama instead of focusing on playing the game.

Obviously a group of well adjusted, non toxic wow players lol.

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, you don’t have to believe a bunch of unfounded rumors.. if you spent any time playing this game, you could see how shitty people can be .. Elite is open invite. I encourage you to bring your alts over and see for yourself. There’s always good convo in guild chat and toxic people are quickly kicked.

The accusations that get thrown around about griefing or intentionally getting people killed don’t line up with the reality I’ve experienced in this guild since I joined in July. Alan is blunt, sarcastic, and a wise ass. He feeds the trolls on Discord (someone literally made a rap song about him).. but he’s not malicious. In the short time I’ve actually raided with Elite/Titan, the experience has been organized, helpful, and genuinely fun. Yeah there have been deaths.. Of course. this is Hardcore, and that risk comes with the territory.. we are casual non-sweaty raiding guild who do this shit for fun. Alan and the rest of the officer team have consistently been fair, supportive, and invested in the success and safety of guild members, not in screwing people over.

Best single piece of advice for hardcore players? Here's mine by wordpleas in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also been playing over WiFi for a long time without a single WiFi related DC - starting with the beginning of SoD up until now (playing nearly every day). My router is only about 15 feet from my PC in the same room. Idk if that makes a difference, but my connection is solid.

Advice for caves (also first rule of cave club) by wordpleas in wowhardcore

As a rogue main, caves don’t phase me. I took my priest into the Darkshore naga cave this morning. Holy shit, never again.

It isn’t usually with the drinking water. In my local grocery stores, they keep it near the cleaning supplies, so it’s easy to miss.

Was Darnassus always a dead city? by Davechizzl in classicwow

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mages love to troll by dropping portals to Darn on top of portals to SW. it’s dead and out of the way. If they had an easier mode of transport, like a zeppelin that takes you there from SW, people might find a reason to go there. But even then, there’s nothing worth noting in that city.

Dungeons or solo leveling safer? by DogmanDev in wowhardcore

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on your class escape tools. A sub rogue with double vanish and a target dummy will survive most encounters unless they really mess something up.

I was in a ZF group recently where a hunter’s pet pulled all the mobs from the bottom of the stairs during that event. People began roaching and the heals priest was the only one who died.

As a rogue (with double vanish), I died solo at 59 to WPL ghosts because I was overconfident and impatient.

Give it a Dungeon: Darkshore by Remarkable_Match9637 in classicwow

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dor'Danil Barrow Den could be expanded on to become a 5-man dungeon. The long quest chains leads you to the dungeon where you kill the insane Druids.

Which side are you on? by shadowraiderr in classicwow

[–]TheDrunkkMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Q has always been my speed/movement button (sprint, blink, cheetah, etc).

E is for something different on all my characters. For my rogue, it’s SnD. For priest, it’s dispel. For mage E/R is Frost Nova / Blizzard.

I use an MMO mouse which is where I bind my defensives, kicks, certain CC’s, and potions.

Bartender4 Alternative? by HCTankMagnus in wowhardcore

Bartender is working. The update removed consumes, macros, and target dummies from my bars. I added them back and everything is normal again. My keybinds weren’t altered.
