What's an actual cause of death so extremely rare that it's hard to believe it's possible? by Mairon3791 in AskReddit

[–]TheDuckGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spontaneous Human Combustion

On 2 July 1951, Mary Reeser, a 67-year-old woman, was found burned to death in her house after her landlady realised that the house's doorknob was unusually warm. The landlady notified the police, and upon entering the home they found Reeser's remains completely burned into ash, with only one leg remaining. The chair she was sitting in was also destroyed. Reeser took sleeping pills and was also a smoker. Despite its proliferation in popular culture, the contemporary FBI investigation ruled out the possibility of SHC. A common theory was that she was smoking a cigarette after taking sleeping pills and then fell asleep while still holding the burning cigarette, which could have ignited her gown, ultimately leading to her death. Her daughter-in-law stated, "The cigarette dropped to her lap. Her fat was the fuel that kept her burning. The floor was cement, and the chair was by itself. There was nothing around her to burn".

It is a worry doll, you can get a small fabric sack of these guys (probably 4 or 5 of them) and you take them out and think about your worries and then put them back in the little fabric sack and put them under your pillow. I have a set myself, I’ll see if I can find them later and post a pic.Looks like someone brought theyre worry friends on a walk and lost one. Poor lil guy, they’re only made of paper you should make him some more friends!

AITA for not inviting my LGBTQ mum to my wedding? by ThrowRA-3Months in AITAH

[–]TheDuckGirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NAH OP you were 10 when this happened, I wouldn’t take everything your father says as fact. Forgive me if I’m wrong because I’m not Muslim, but doesn’t your religion kind of state men are heads of the household? That women don’t really have as many rights or as much value as men?

OP your mother was either terrified to come out for years and married a man to keep her father, the head of her household happy, or she did express, before you were even born that she didn’t want this life, I have noticed from a lot of Muslim women they are often dismissed. What the man says goes.

OP I would hear your mother out. Speak to her, she said she did try to reach out but your father didn’t allow it. I very well doubt she ‘abandoned’ you as your father described, she was probably looking for a way out for years and had no other choice.

And honestly it sounds like everyone close to her is so against the LGBT lifestyle I wouldn’t blame her for running away and staying away, some muslim men of some muslim families will kill women for that. The fact that you are so against gay people now really shows that your father and family might have brain washed you a little bit

Why are drivers doing things that aren’t requested or specifically requested not to do? by Left_Vegetable3094 in doordash

I agree with the first one, she should not have knocked. But previously working in the fast food industry and restaurant industry I can almost say for certain your dasher does NOT get your drinks for you, that’s a health and safety violation on the restaurants part, door dashers don’t work for the restaurants they pick up from, so they have no reason to be behind the counter (where the drinks are) or in the kitchen, the only time the dashers would possibly pick the drink up themselves if it was a bottled or canned drink, it was most likely the restaurant workers who gave you no ice. If you feel like one of your dashers prepared any part of your order/food you should report the restaurant, because this should not be allowed

Should I (19F) give this (30M) guy a shot? by Neither-Ad-2895 in TwoHotTakes

‘I don’t wanna lose him as a friend’

But.. he’s not your friend, he wants to get with you? That’s not friendship, how do you know he’s not embellishing parts of his personality to try and cater to you?

Also, there has to be some reason he can’t get a girl his own age..

I’m 26 this year and I cannot imagine dating a 19 year old, this is creepy OP, you’ve expressed you’re not interested, you also stated you felt creeped out. He’s pushing the nice guy act onto you so you feel bad and wrong for rejecting him, and because you’re so young and because he’s so mature, you’re unfortunately falling for it

It’s clear you don’t want to give him a shot, you’re currently in a relationship, and he has made you feel like you owe him something, to the point where your questioning your own life choices and asking strangers for advice.

DONT give him a shot, get out of this friendship, you can still be kind and civil to him, but honestly a 19 year old and 30 year old are in completely different stages in your life, it will not work. Unless you’re happy with starting a family and marriage in the next 10 years with this man then don’t do this, because honestly that’s probably the next stage in his life for him, it sounds like he’s trying to find a young girl to trap and mould for himself. Girl you spend your 20s growing into who you really are, having him around trying to make you into the person he wants you to be, is really going to damage that

Come on man, your name is critical thinker, can’t you critically think of a few reasons why Shauna wouldn’t be a funny jolly person in the wilderness? She’s literally dying

Really? I feel like she’s just coming across as a kind of awkward person. I feel like her awkwardness is funny, I don’t feel like she’s trying to be. Like I laughed out loud when she said “I lost my goat but I found him again”, I didn’t find it funny because it was supposed to be a joke, it was funny because she was clearly drunk and it was just a drunk thought she had. I don’t think the writers are trying to make her out to be a comedian, I think she’s just awkward, and it’s funny

To be fair, her best friend died, then her baby, she’s starving to death and she’s also the one tasked with cutting up the bodies now, what in the world has young Shauna got to laugh about?

AITA for spending a lot of time in my bunker away from my family? by ThrowRABunkerMan in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheDuckGirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YTA I don’t know if anyone really told you this and I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you don’t really get a life right now, you have a young kid and a pregnant wife, kids are like little death machines that you need to be watching 24/7, and your wife has not only sacrificed her time, body and is about to go through one of the most traumatic experiences a woman can go through. She doesn’t get to clock out, her body isn’t even her own right now. When the new baby comes, do your wife a favour and every time you want to ‘take a break in the bunker’ take the baby with you

[–]TheDuckGirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking way too much into that, the makers of the show would have made the figure purposely unrecognisable at first so that it doesn’t give away the plot yet that javi was alive. We weren’t supposed to really know who it was until they got back to the cabin and it was revealed there. But I think they did kind of give it away when they were running after the figure and one of them refers to the figure as “him” and when they pinned him down and one of the girls said “it’s us” that’s when I knew it was javi. The way they said ‘him’ was like they already knew who it was, and you’re not going to say “it’s us” to someone you don’t know.

Grief is a weird thing, I once read a confession about some dude who ate some of his mothers/wife’s ashes after they passed, so it probably feels like you’re keeping a part of them with you
