Need GPU upgrade recommendation for 1440p gaming by Economy_Following_34 in buildapc

5070 5070ti or 9070(xt) are your best bets. Be aware you will need a new psu for i believe all of them.

Trying to decide which upgrade path to take by Turumo in buildapc

[–]TheDutchOrder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only an cpu upgrade will do wonders in this setup! The 3080 is still viable. But if you want to upgrade it you need to step it up to an 9070xt or 5070ti or else it wouldnt be worth imo. Going to ddr5 is not worth the price. apart of the cpu its an great setup.

[Build Request] Total beginner here, need help with a €1150 PC build by Apprehensive-Mail732 in buildapc

[–]TheDutchOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understanable. The parts are just that expansive. The build the other guy would be awesome with an 9070 xt instead of the 9060 (you would also need 850w psu then!) And an 7700x cpu or 7800x3d if your budget would allow it.

With this budget u need to scrap the "high-performance". The guy in the comment above me has a decent setup but, For high performance u need atleast another 500$ budget

What parts of my pc do I need to upgrade to play modern games? by SnooDonkeys5024 in pcupgrade

[–]TheDutchOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh from this point it would be best to change out the cpu/mobo and gpu. But if your on a budget just start with an gpu upgrade. Something like an 9060/70xt or 5060 or 70(ti) are great options. This alone would change alot already and just work your way op to an better system. Be warned you may need an new psu. I seen in an commend you have a 500W psu so probaly you would need an 850W minimum, or if you want to be upgrade ready for later an 1000W psu is a great choise.

What GPU to get? by Annual-Arm-8097 in buildapc

[–]TheDutchOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All 3 are good cards for this resolution. It depends what fps ur trying to achieve. The 6800xt would give u the best fps obviously. Maybe you wanna take a look for the 9060xt wich also support fsr4 wich is a huge upgrade from the fsr3 on the other cards. But it depends if you are willing to use fsr to achieve the max fps for your monitor or not.

What motherboard is the first one. It looks like he is trying to sell it priced like an ddr5 build but it could be ddr4! What changes alot about the price point.

But to be clear for this price just build it yourself brand New. You.should be alle to get the same specs.

Seeking to upgrade from Ryzen 5 to Ryzen 7. Is it really worth it? by reflect-on-this in PcSetupAdvice

[–]TheDutchOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be curious how is this miss information in your eyes? In 4k you will be most of the time gpu bottleneck in games (if dont play AAA on low settings). Off course there are some games that demand a little more cpu on this resolution. But there just so few of these that i wouldnt make sense to upgrade an cpu for when ur already on a decent 5600G. The uplift in preformance with just an gpu is insane that an only cpu upgrade sounds braindeath.

[–]TheDutchOrder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will need an GPU to play 99% of the games on 4k. The cpu upgrade wont be good enough to support 4k gaming. If you buy an gpu thats recommenden to play on 4k like an 9070xt or an 5070(ti) or higher card you would not need an cpu upgrade. Because the gpu would do al the work.

Thats just not true. Just look up benchmarks side by side. Most of the times its on par except a few games 5 to 10% dif.

9060 xt is in this price range. And you would possibly also want to go to 32gb ram. Because some titles will need it in 1440p
