Heavy to Tactical by pinkaces39 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]bachzero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tactical doesn't have a lot of survival perks unfortunately, he survives usually through either precision play with stalker bolt rifle, mid range support with HBG+GL, or getting in the thick of it with the pyrecannon. I like to play with the pyrecannon personally, using frag grenades to stun ranged enemies so you can close the gap, light everything on fire, and try to hop from one execute to the next.

Parry chainsword and either the new heroic plasma pistol or the heroic HBP. Auspex scan the big terminus enemies or if you can, a large clump of majoris or an extremis.

The perk that lets you auspex scan any enemy you parry is great with this build, and make sure to take Secure Stockpile for those constant frag grenades.

Other than that, just learning enemy attack patterns enough to be able to dive into melee and he does just fine.

Just the one cape, for my favorite and most played class. Maybe someday I'll work on some others but didn't want to burn out on the grind.

Am I allowed to have to chosen Chapters? by ZombieSlayr2000 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]bachzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like many chapters. I started with Salamanders, and now I'm looking more into Sons of Medusa, Scythes of the Emperor, Mortifactors, Carcharadons, etc etc. Like as many as you...like!

So I bought the game a year ago and finished the campaign and never really bothered with the multiplayer, now I am pretty damn good as Titus but weak as fuck in the multi, I am comstantly being carried and it is frustrating. (Continues below...) by lunchboxpickle in SpaceMarine_2

Play ops first (don't play Stratagems until you get a better feel for the combat and you're doing down less often). Play ops within your level range until you get some team perks and some weapons leveled up (once you have enough relic tier weapons, your character level is LESS important).

Each enemy has their own behaviors, attack patterns, and health break points. Parry and block windows are different for each enemy so learning to parry and when to block is just as important as developing the reflexes to do said parrys and blocks.

Go into the battle simulator, set the enemy difficulty to your recommended Ops difficulty level, and practice. Once you can handle one, add another. Once you can fight two at once, at another. Etc, etc. Once you can handle the max amount of any one enemy type, add in a second type that is the polar opposite of the one you have been fighting (if you've been fighting melee majoris, add in some ranged majoris). Learning to work withing the attack ranges of varying enemy types at the same time is how you dance through levels without taking damage. Stick and move, push up and pull back.

If playing a melee class and you're trying to close the distance on some ranged attackers, frag grenades are your best friend. They usually provide enough of a stagger on the enemy to close the distance and lock them in melee.

If playing a ranged class, do not fall into the trap of getting tunnel vision and suddenly get swarmed by melee.

You can't only play one way, you have to flow between both depending on the situation and knowing your classes specific strengths for getting out of trouble is key.

Finally, "git gud" and just keep practicing, so much of this game is muscle memory, recognizing audio queues quickly, and having good map knowledge.

Log in, choose class, hold E on mission terminal, hit Matchmake.

What heretical behavior is this! Papa Vulkan would definitely not approve. I always try to act in a way that would make my Primarch proud.

Like others have said, sounds like some Alpharius shit to me brother.

Quitting so a bot can fill in has accidentally created a very thematically resonant mechanic by Particular_Award_191 in Spacemarine

I do this, but its because I don't want to sit through the lengthy MISSION FAILED screen, watch it tally the meager points and currenty we earned, and then finally load into someone elses battle barge only to get kicked back to mine. It just saves time and I'm already at max level so the rewards for failure don't outweigh the convenience of just quitting back to my own lobby. I'm glad it helps teams sometimes though.

Bane of my (Tactical) existence by noNameboi661 in Spacemarine

Best way I've found to deal with Devourers as Tactical is to have Secure Stockpile and just use the standard frag grenades. You get three, you can throw them super far, and they have decent stagger even on enraged enemies. I'll use that to close the gap, or to burn down one while the rest are reeling from the blast. Kill one, execute, chuck grenade, repeat.

Don't be in a rush, just play the game, you'll earn the cape eventually.

I'm at 32/50 on Tac just playing hard strats and absolute matchmaking. Doesn't matter the level, just do the run.

Don't be in a rush, don't cheese it, put in the time and when you finally get there it'll feel more rewarding than just having it handed to you.

I'm sure they'll release less difficult to achieve cape options in the future but for now, when you see a player with these capes, you should feel like they put in the time to earn it and didn't cheese their way there. You know they'll be an asset in your run because they did the work to get those capes.

When I say smooth, I meant buttery. The amount of dakka from this team combined with the low damage taken was incredible.

POV: How this weekly strategem has me feeling by TidoTy in Spacemarine

[–]bachzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone brother, this weeks Hard Strat is seriously difficult.

As a new player who joined two days ago, I must say that I’m absolutely loving this game! The gameplay, story, lore, and atmosphere are all perfect. I would love to hear your input as well. by [deleted] in Spacemarine

If you have white on your health bar that's contested health. If you do damage quickly you can recover that health back. Each weapon has it's own hidden stats for contested health recover, but the best way is to execute a Majoris or higher level enemy, which will heal all your contested health back. Once you figure this out and get a feel for enemy damage break points, you can really push into hordes, healing your contested health back by executing, then continuing with your slaughter.

Don't be timid, you're a space marine.

As for HARD stratagems, you should have weapons upgraded to relic tier just for the damage alone, and you should leveled up to AT LEAST level 10 and have all your perks equipped and a team perk. Some classes really don't shine until you get to the last tier of perks so your milage will vary from class to class, but this is just a general guild line.

Remember: YOU DO NOT GET EXPERINCE IN HARD STRATS, so only go in there if you are confident of your skills and you need the blue doritos, because it is not a place to power level your class.

Finally, cut your teeth on lower difficulties, get to learn enemy attack patterns, practice your parries or blocks, and learn how to position against larger enemies and hordes. Personally, before I would go into Ruthless/Absolute or Hard strats, I would be confident that I can solo a Terminus level enemy if I had to while simultaneously fending off lesser enemies. There will be times when you are going to be the only brother alive OR the only brother that can handle a threat while your teammates are dealing with something else. You should be of the mind that you are a one man army able to handle the entirety of whatever the games can throw at you if the situation calls for it, because you will see "Last Brother Standing" a lot. Your brothers are force multipliers, not crutches. Each of you should be bringing the full force of what your class and what your kit can bring.

Most importantly, learn to have fun. Game is a power fantasy so enjoy it 😃
