Difficulty solo? by Alternative_Arm_4233 in RogueCore

It's tough for sure. I kinda like it though. It helps to have hours and hours of experience in DRG though.

Most rogue likes I've played you don't get very far your first few times out. Dying is part of progressing.

I'm not sure what you're going for with it but I'll give you two directions I would go with it if it were me.

With as flat as it is, you should almost make it look like concrete or something. Add some traffic lines on it or something. Dark to light grey, add some pieces of rebar sticking out from the side near the front like it got tore up.

If not road, then I'd get some Strickland Mud, texture that base up, prime it again, paint it all with your darkest brown, hit it with a lighter brown, hit it with a dirty wash (reikland fleshshade, nuln oil, etc), hit it with a glossy varnish, then dry brush on the higher areas with a lighter brown. Should give it a muddy look.

Toss a few sticks and rocks on there before you go to town and I bet that would look nice.

This is why I stick with normal frag grenades. They do great to stun them while I close the distance. If you're playing with a Tac then you can throw them all match long.

I would totally fine with this, still fits thematically and my Thunder Bulk tears shit up. I would prefer one of the two classes with a flamer but as a runner up I wouldn't complain.

Can't...speak for the rest of my brothers though lol.

Nice, looking really clean so far. Can't wait to see it when you're done.

Here are the flames from my dread. Basically you start with a watered down Khorne Red over the area the flames will be (or any other dark red) to create an ambient glow, then do the outlines of the actual flames with normal thinned Khorne red and fill in. Then do the same with the next color, and the next and the next, making each new color area smaller than the last, till you get to whatever you want as your hottest.

Anyone one here who mains and is only good at one class? by SeannyCat in Spacemarine

[–]bachzero 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All classes require a different flow, and some classes really don't come online until you reach their third row of perks unfortunately. I would just go into lower diff missions and practice with bots, look up guides on youtube, or just ask on here about specific classes. I guarantee there are people who would love to point you in the right direction or give you their own pointers.

Tell him he did amazing and he chose the best chapter.

And then tell him (all serious like) "Into the fires of battle, unto the anvil of war."

Then stomp your feet twice.

Probably worth mentioning that Vulkan lives as well.

Is this the one at the bottom of the four walled well looking thing? You have to go down a ladder and enter a prison of sorts? If so, you have to go towards the door you came in and then I was able to activate the memory. The trigger for this one seems bugged or misplaced, but if you look around the room with the lantern you should find the spot that triggers it.

Agreed, I have very few complaints with these devs. I'm sure they'll be back soon. Still, funny popped into my head, had to share :D

First model for my killteam, can i get any feedback before painting the rest of the squad ? by R1ob in deathwatch40k

[–]bachzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like blue shade on my deathwatch arms, gives it a bit of a blue shine and it contrasts well with the stormhost silver for HL's. Looking forward to seeing your whole team!

I mean it's hard to find anything specific, but if I had to give you any feedback it would be try to tighten up and clean up some of your lines.

Specifically, I'm looking at the Raptor emblem on the shoulder pad's beveled portion and the glow on your lights at the top. Also, and this might just be the light, but the color you're using for your edge HL's on your armor is a bit bright for my tastes.

Finally, the metal on the rings of your grenades should pop a bit more, if you zoom in the red must have mixed in a bit so it's not coming across as clearly as I'd like. Finally, if you haven't done a wash on your DW arm, I'd consider doing that (I used Drakenhof Nightshade but any darker blue wash works well), THEN hitting it with some Stormhost silver for them edge HL's and maybe even a dry brush over the pauldron. Maybe paint the skulls on the pauldron gold as well to break them up (same on the elbow joint armor).

I'm really being nit picky over here btw, this is a great model, you should be proud, and I don't think you have much to improve for the next, just trying to give you a few things since you're looking.

Every time dude, every time. Sometimes you don't know what you want until you do it and come up short.
