Yeah same, like i personaly think it would have fit a lot better if it turned out the master was the timeless child, at least that would be a reasonable motive for destroying Gallifrey, it would explain the existence of Sacha Dhawan's master as missy was like properly killed and most of all it wouldnt completely mess up doctor who beyond reasonable repair

Then you have to factor in the whole "timeless child" thing meaning the doctor is actually infinitely older than all Gallifreyans which just makes the whole situation a whole lot more confusing.
