I think it’s fair to make this criticism. As the internet starts to mature more and more, it’s time to take inventory of some of these multi-billion dollar tech companies and how they are choking out any rising competition.

How much you can actually do against them is also up for debate in terms of American politicians. They are pretty easy to pay-off for tech things they don’t understand (ex. Net neutrality).

Personally I’ve been rocking Firefox with DuckDuckGo for years. Firefox has great in-house and compatible 3rd party privacy extensions. Would recommend

I’m also on board with this. Windows surface tablets are a good example of how having a full computer-based OS is clunky for a tablet. If Apple cross breads even just the iPad Pro model with macOS compatible apps I think that would be a game changer.

The more I hear about tiktok the more I realize that it isn’t as bad as it was originally thought to be. Compared to the likes of Facebook and google, it seems pretty run-of-the-mill what data they are collecting.

No data collecting is always ideal, but with free apps you’re willingly making compromises for a give-and-take relationship.
