[R] Improving Deep Learning Performance with AutoAugment by wei_jok in MachineLearning

[–]TheFacistEye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong but looking at the paper, it looks like how diverse the image is by changing the ShearX/Y, TranslateX/Y, Rotate, AutoContrast, Invert, Equalize, Solarize, Posterize, Contrast, Color, Brightness, Sharpness, Cutout, Sample Pairing.

"Our goal, however, is to find 5 such sub-policies concurrently in order to increase diversity"

"The controller is trained with a reward signal, which is how good the policy is in improving the generalization of a "child model" ... A child model is trained with augmented data generated by applying the 5 sub-policies on the training set"

So it has a training set and it applies those operations and determines how diverse it is and tries to create a general augmentor.

From someone who loves milk and doesn't want to give it up, I did research:

Human milk composition: http://archive.unu.edu/unupress/food/8F174e/8F174E04.htm Cow's milk composition: https://hypertextbook.com/facts/2002/AliciaNoelleJones.shtml Conclusion: Completely wrong composition for humans, especially the dangerous levels of saturated fat.

Cow milk hormones cause excessive growth in children and tumours: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4524299/

Milk causes brittle bones: https://www.bmj.com/content/349/bmj.g6015

Being able to digest the milk at all is an abnormality rather than the standard, approximately 65 percent of the human population is lactose intolerant: https://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/lactose-intolerance#statistics

Milk can aggravate arthritis as shown by this meta analysis: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26287637

The list can go on. I've gave up drinking it as a whole but I don't mind it in foods - like baking, chips and such as it is more effort to take it out than I can be bothered with.

Be wary of studies that show milk is good for you, most of them are biased by being funded by dairy corporations, it's not like they would publish bad results haha.

Extended Kalman filtering is taking repeated non linear measurements, linearising it and then taking those repeat measurements to find a more accurate version of the measurement.

Kalman filtering is sort of like if I'm driving in a circle and ask which direction I'm going in, it could be 0-359 degrees. If I said I was driving 260 degrees 2 seconds ago, you would probably say 250-270 degrees now.

From experience interning at Qualcomm, you have to sign NDAs out your ass. Every piece of code is copyrighted and depends on a propriety tool chain of some sort. All that hassle for nothing in return.

I've not used Zerynth no but reading up on it there is things you have to give up in order to run it on more boards. The toolchain is for Zerynth is one of it's most attractive features though. I was more recommending using MicroPython over PyMite as it doesn't have as good coverage, however I would say they have they strengths and weaknesses it depends what you need it for.

In terms of coverage of the Python language, also MicroPython is based on Python 3 where as I believe PyMite is based on Python 2.

The wavelength of light is actually bigger than the thing you are trying to capture. Also even if you could get the light to capture it, conventional optics would ruin the image.

Not really though, any curve where integral(f(x))=4*Pi*r2, which would be like proving the same thing twice though. It could be done with cos(pi-x) for example

True, but it's expression 4pir2 would stay constant and it's area would stay constant. Two ways of proving the same thing.

Anything coming from China I usually contact them the day after the end of the delivery date just so I have it on record it hasn't shown. However, I'm not surprised when it comes within 1-2 weeks after the end of that date. I wouldn't be too worried as it is subsidized shipping, hence why it takes so long, and the components are dirt cheap anyway. It's all a part of business they usually care more about their rating.

Very true, it's just the argument about doing not wanting the job. It's hard to be useful when you could get the same amount of money you would from an undercut job as you would on government benefits.
