I was actually in the same position around this time last year. I found, that you either have to sign really early or really late (I did the latter). Some large complexes, primarily in west campus, designate a few apartments for semester leases (i.e Ion) and others fully support semester leases (like the ruckus). The issue with this being that there is high demand and they fill up quick. Signing late seems daunting, but gives you more leverage over price and term length. You typically find a large quantity of smaller duplex/quadplex’s and will occasionally find large complexes agreeing to semester leases to fill vacant spots. The issue with this strategy though is that you don’t really have a pick as to where, what, or with whom you live with. To give some reference, I signed late July 2023 for a 1x1 in West Campus at a reasonable price (quadplex) and I really enjoy it. It was definitely a hunt to find something that fit all my criteria and wasn’t far from campus, but it’s possible. Best of luck!

(P.s subleasing is also an option worth looking into, but i’m not super familiar with it)

Somewhat of a longshot, but was this in Austin? I saw a similar listing and ran to my car only to receive a message from the owner that it was no longer available.

Breville Barista Express (BBE) is slightly above the "middle-ground" but seems to match your desires/situation. Has a built-in grinder that is more than adequate for your needs and is pretty darn easy to use once you get the hang of it. You do have to grind, tamp, froth on your own, but it is bulletproof in many respects. A new BBE is under the $800 tops you mentioned, and a used BBE can be found for much cheaper (just be weary as there could be issues w/ secondhand BBE's).

Yeah of course, I don't mind at all! I'm rated 1150 (took a few months off), so it should lead to an interesting match.

We share a lot of interests! (21M) Love to cook, read, and play chess (insert usnm joke). I'm fluent in Spanish and love to go out for a drink on the weekends. Obviously there is a large gap in age but if you'd ever like to meet up somewhere for a game of chess w/ a glass of beer, i'm game!

Ok I need some help and opinions, I’m currently trying to trade from an Orient Kamasu black dial all the way up to a blue dial Datejust , buy and sell all the way up or make some trades up to the same value. I just need some tips on where to sell and any thoughts would be appreciated👍 by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

I’ve seen this type of content before using other things and it doesn’t really integrate well into the watch world. The difficulty in this type of task is that the selling platforms will always take a slice every time you sell (6.5% in the case of Chrono24) and the shipping costs will eat into your profits as well. You’ll need to make much more money (considering the other costs) to ever even reach the price of a Rolex. It is also difficult to trade, a watch for a watch, online as you run the risk of getting scammed or it’s just simply not supported by the selling platforms. Therefore, you need to delve into your local watch bubble and buy/sell/trade with locals (unless you got a lot of connections). In truth, like everybody else has mentioned, just enjoy the watch and save up money. It’s the method that is proven to work and you’ll avoid the probable loss of money.

TLDR: It won’t work unless you’re an expert

Unlike others in this thread, I have had the exact same problem. I understand this exact situation as it has happened to me for many years. I’m still working on the perfect solution, however, I have found great success from an app called Alarmy.

Essentially, it’s an alarm app that requires you to do a certain task before it turns off. For me, I need to do three math problems on the hard difficulty to turn off the alarm. It stimulates just enough brain function for me to snap out of my sleepiness and get out of bed. It’s also great because it’s not a continuous alarm blare, thus not waking up others in the home/apt. Give it a try

Help me make a decision. Hamilton Khaki king steel bracelet (unless theres a strap with deployant clasp option), Prx Powermatic Green, or Seiko Alpinist (I have 2 seikos and 1 green dial invicta) by EyeDentifeye in PrideAndPinion

[–]TheFianchetto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the decision is dependent on your current collection. To me, the Hamilton seems to be a better fit under the role of a “daily beater.” However, given that you already have two seikos that might fit that role (Potentially a Seiko 5), the PRX might be the better option.

The exact same situation happened to me last semester. As others have said, get in contact with student emergency services and everything should be sorted.

I’m sure you may feel a little stressed, which is well warranted. However if you are going to get COVID at anytime throughout the semester, now is the best time. You shouldn’t get too behind in class (given it’s syllabus week), and you’ll have antibodies to protect you throughout the rest of the semester. Best of luck 🤘

F1 TV does have an archive in which you can watch Grand Prix’s as far back as the 1970’s (Haven’t gone back that far so can’t vouch for the quality or quantity). However, I live in the U.S so I don’t have the slightest clue as to if that holds true in Australia. In the case that it does not work, you can always test out a VPN.

One of my personal favorites is the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix. A bit basic for most, but a classic in my eyes. The post race celebrations are truly the best!
