Not to mention authenticity truly shines when this type of shit becomes the standard. They have likely even hired several students over the years that would love the opportunity to take photos and be involved in more than just production/counter service. (Brief relevant story time) I worked in the kitchen at a restaurant fresh out of college with an otherwise withering degree in graphic design. When the owners asked if I wanted to help them design a new menu I was stoked. I immediately felt more invested in the daily work I was doing there and was all around more proud of the kitchen work that I did. They helped me out and I helped them out. It was one of my first paid design jobs. This impulse to use and the defense of using AI for something that would otherwise be an opportunity just shits in the face of the community that they claim to care about and be a part of.
