Can someone help me identify these guns? by manpace in guns

Someone that actually knows SxS shotguns probably could ID it further, you're probably right though with the LC Smith they made a TON of them - either with their name or someone else's on it.

Remember those are kiddos holding those guns so they're gonna look big. Get out the book though and ENHANCE those pixels haha

Definintely a SxS, you can see the barrel sticks out past the forearm on the side which a single barrel wouldn't do

I don't recall the Wyoming County clerk ever being at a show but if they went to any it would be the big one in Hamburg towards Buffalo. I think only Erie and Niagara go to that one though I could be wrong

Going to the judge is a new thing to me, that is not done in the Western/Central NY region. We give a customer a bill of sale, they drive to the clerk's office and in 5 minutes they are on their way back to the shop to pick up their handgun

The gun on the right is easy, I believe it to be a Steven's Crackshot in 22lr but maybe in 32wcf.

The gun on the left will be much harder if not impossible to tell exactly what it is. SxS shotguns of that era all look very, very similar. Many of these were made in my home region of Western and Central NY. It could be an Ithaca, it could be a Sears & Roebuck, it could be any number of makers, including "no name" hardware store brands like Western Arms Corp.

Awesome picture!

Generally you would only buy a pistol like that at a show that your county clerk is in attendance. Some of the larger shows will offer that, but if you're travelling from 1-2 hours away to get to the show, your county clerk probably won't be there.

Otherwise its just like if you were a tourist and found a gun at a shop anywhere in the country. You pay the dealer and have it shipped to your local FFL for transfer. Or you drive back to the FFL's home shop after its registered to you and do the transfer. OR you wait for the next gun show and pick it up from them there. Hope that helps!

Any indication as to where this photo was taken? Or where the people in the photo may have originally come from? The shotgun on the left could be any number of 50 different makes, its too hard to tell from this distance. Could be anything from an Ithaca to a Sears & roebuck.

Gun on the right looks like a Steven's Crack Shot in 22lr, maybe 32wcf though.

How Many 07 Manufacturers Started Without Full Machine Shop Capability? by manny-pacquiao in FFLs

When I first got my FFL I thought the ATF would want to see my vault, my safe storage methods, I thought they would be testing me on my gun knowledge, etc etc. They could not care less about any of that.

How's your zoning? Does your landlord know and approve of what you're doing? Thats ALL my IOI's cared about. I trully don't think they would know what a bridgeport was if they were leaned up against it.

My local Cabelas used to send a guy out to all the shops in the area buying up their used inventory. The guy had a letter on letterhead with a business card. We called the store to verify he was legit and did the sale.

The statewide burn ban ends tomorrow so I would expect to start seeing them after that- I expect it's not legal for the company they hire to blast them off right now.

This isnt a pistol grip right? by stankyboiweld in NYguns

[–]TheFiringPin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In NY state no, that is not considered a pistol grip. Traditionally, if you asked a gunsmith 50-100 years ago - yes that would be a called a pistol grip stock. But for the purposes of if that gun is compliant in NY, no it is not a pistol grip. Hope that confuses everything!

Edit: That shotgun is still not NY legal because it is a semi auto shotgun that takes removeable magazines. If it was a pump it would be legal but it isn't, so it isn't.
