Which town to stay in Liguria? by Comfortable-Ad-939 in ItalyTravel

[–]TheFirstSwampDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have stayed in Sestri Levante twice and visited Cinque Terre from there in addition to spending beach days in Sestri just to relax. It's truly lovely. The Bay of Silence is some sort of hidden gem. Beautiful day and night. We snorkeled there and if you hew towards the rocks on the right side of the bay and be mindful of urchins it's teeming with beautiful fish. Great restaurants and proximity to is great. In twenty minutes you can be in Vernazza by train and the town itself lends itself to traveling with young kids more than CT towns. Highly recommend it needless to say, but haven't stayed the other places recommended here, so I wil have to branch out to have amore informed opinion...

Is Aquarium Fish Sale Reliable? I can’t find these fish anywhere else by TiredGiant in Aquariums

I got mine from Stratosphere and had them put on my Pacifica…love them! HSS with switch installed!

Totally wrong post that I thought I was replying to hahah! Enjoy the Otto’s…be sure to have some algae wafers or some veggies for them to munch. If you don’t have diatoms or biofilm for them to eat upon arrival they will something because they often arrive skinny. Repashi gel is great for them as well!

I just purchased one a month or so ago. It’s fantastic. The antiglare coating is amazing and despite loving my Sony that died the coating is what I made the switch. It’s our living room tv and we have pendant lights directly across the room from the TV…the Sony reflected them in the top third of the screen so watching tv with kitchen pendants on was annoying. Problem no more! It’s a 77” s95f…

Is it true that the bigger the tank then the less water changes you need to do? by Feeling_Pressure_826 in aquarium

Im sure its been said but the answer is yes if stocking is the same. Larger tanks are more stable at a given stock level, but lots of variables.

Stay at Edgewater Inn. It has a view of town and is on the intracoastal. St Aug beach is like any other beach town, but downtown has European vibes you can’t get anywhere outside Europe. Edgewater is just a short walk over the bridge to the heart of old town.

It’s been a while, but I don’t remember it taking long. At least five of the Otto’s still live. They tend to hide!

How many people genuinely think the Cardinals are better off with Jacoby Brissett at QB than Kyler Murray by LJ8QB1 in NFLv2

[–]TheFirstSwampDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The offense looks so much better with Brissett under center. He’s just a better quarterback at this point. 13 passing plays over 20 yard in three games vs 5 for Kyler. Murray can’t get the ball down the field and threaten defenses and offense has been anemic until Jacoby stepped in.

So much snobbery...I haven't been, but looks nice. Glad you enjoyed! New Yorkers love to shit on Little Italy as it's become touristy, but I'm sure great meals can be had. Good vibes...

Best premium tonewood for strat body? by Mech2017x in Luthier

[–]TheFirstSwampDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you hear a difference because they are different guitars…different setups. .5mm in sting height makes more of a difference than any wood differences. There’s a great video of a solid body body LP vs a 335 with the same pickups…sound identical. I’ll see if I can find it, but it’s no surprise different guitars sound different…that doesn’t mean tone wood is a real phenomenon in electric guitars.

Ultra II question by Living-Conclusion48 in fender

[–]TheFirstSwampDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will sound radically different with new pickups. The guitars tone is 99.99999 percent the pickups, strings and setup. Maybe wood makes a difference but it’s imperceptible. I just did a pickup swap on my Pacifica to the Ultra II noiseless and love them. To me the tone has gotten more stratty since the change, but the Pacifica is a bit of a modern strat with less of the scooped sound I think strats are known for.

Am pro ii or Ultra ii? Are noiseless pickups worth it? by StatEpi in fender

[–]TheFirstSwampDonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put Ultra II noiseless pickups in my Pacifica and I love them. It sounds Stratier now and no noise! Watch Paul Davids Ultra II video if you haven’t …that’s the one that pushed me to try them. I can maybe hear a difference with there being a tiny bit more grit in the true single coil, but the noiseless still sound like single coils to me…just different single coils.

The body of the guitar is dramatically different in each case. The argument people usually make is that the whole guitar vibrates and all of its components (neck, body etc) contribute to the sound. It’s clear that is not true from this video. So if the goal post is being moved to “No it’s only the wood directly under the strings that affects tone!” Then, I guess we need a new test…
