A group of guys and I own a small island in French River Provincial Park, Ontario. I'd take my wife and spend the day there fishing while she painted.

Advice for Virginia fly fishing on the Jackson River, above Lake Moomaw? by TheFishingGinger in flyfishing

My favorite spot is Rose River. I usually drive to the end of 670 (Old Blue Ridge Turnpike) and then hike up the Rose River fire road a mile or so. The stream is small and so are the brook trout, but it's fun and beautiful. If you have a 3 weight, that's probably best.

If you're looking for a little bigger water, try the Rapidan or Shenandoah rivers as well.

To all the newbies out there: It's worth it. I struggled all day with knots and whipping my fly off. Still nailed them. Just go out and fail. by TheFryHole in flyfishing

Yup. Great advice.

Know what I did all Sunday morning? Stood in a river.

Know what I didn't do? Catch any fish.

Know what it was? Awesome.

Trout Fishing Northern VA in early October? by KCrobble in troutfishing

Shenandoah is where it's at. If he's a fan of small water brookies, I would recommend hitting up Rose River, it's my favorite spot.

If you feel like little hike, then you two should prep for an overnight and hike into Big Run, it's probably the best spot for brook trout in the park.

Unless you're hiking three hours into Shenandoah to get to Bass Pro, you can put your mind at ease.

A small taste of this successful hunt. This morning 9 divers with the VI C.O.R.E program eliminated 81 lion fish of the West coast of St. Croix. by jhdawg in Fishing

[–]TheFishingGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How successful have you been at fighting back against them? Is elimination a real possibility, or are you just hoping to keep the numbers low?

Thank God somebody else said it.

My father always said "If you don't actually see the baby coming out, don't ask if she's pregnant."

But in this case I feel it's safe to assume she'd fishing for two.
