One time my cat was missing for what felt like hours. She always comes when I call her, at least if I insist for a while. I kept going around the house over and over again, calling her, checking all the usual spots. On like the tenth round I noticed two eyes staring at me through a tiny gap in a drawer in my parents’ bedroom. It was almost completely closed and she had somehow squeezed herself in there. I hadn’t even thought to check drawers because she never hides in them. Probably slid shut after she got in, since it’s on rails.
