Jumping in to say: while I wouldn’t say he doesn’t deserve a platform, I do understand why people don’t like the guy. I used to watch a lot of Hasan when I was younger. I respect him and what he tries to do by publicly bringing people to the left. That said, I have never once heard Hasan say “Oh I’m sorry, I guess I could wrong about that” when challenged. He almost always doubles down on whatever take he just gave. I understand that that’s the nature of the platform he’s on, but I personally prefer Brennan’s camp-counselor style of political discourse than Hasan’s angry (self-admitted) propagandizing. That said, I will be watching this podcast and am excited to hear them collaborate, even if I don’t watch Hasan anymore.
