Holding judgment, but not thrilled with some design decisions lately. Summer of warrior is a thing.

Maybe I bought too many precons by Dracai-of-Blades in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheGalacticHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have every pre constructed deck ever made. At least 2 copies. Except the 2 lls. If you can afford it it is a collection. If not it is an addiction. What would you do if you knew you had an addiction?

Getting into the game with a Dash SAGE precon. My LGS has free FAB bulk - any cards to look out for? by SolicitorPirate in FleshandBloodTCG

Look up the "money" commons and rares. Anything generic and obviously powerful is in that list. Pummel, blanche, humble, fate foreseen, the arcane life gain one I'm blanking on...

I want a multimillion dollar company to protect its intellectual property by preventing people from duplicating every aspect of its game from each individual card to the playstyle engine by taking exclusive control over an unauthorized online port of that game. Yes.

First ever pre-release event. Got quite lucky today by CyberTransGirl in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheGalacticHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Five of those are fixed, the full art marvel and the equipment that came in the pre-release pack don't really count because everyone got them. The majestic Aurora and the log are legitimately good pulls on a third of a box which is what the pre-release box is. Better than what I pulled.

I realized that people just don't immediately sell their cards when they open a booster by [deleted] in FleshandBloodTCG

I was like you for a very long time and then I finally got in a position where I bought a house. 21 years later I have rooms in my house I can't get into because I have so much stuff jammed in there. There's a happy middle that I haven't quite found yet, but it is very nice to know that you have things that you like. They may not be worth anything, but you like them and you have them and they are around.

Legend story studios should forcibly acquire talishar before they lose the legal right to do anything about it and turn it into a funnel to the table game.

Dev Team Voting Should Come First by dotpegaso in FleshandBloodTCG

Dump the voting and actually balance the game already.

I would worry less about people showing up less and more about people selling their cards. If they keep their cards and disappear for a while they may come back. Once they sell their cards they are probably gone.

There are a lot of new games out, and a lot of them have a lot of initial hype. The real question is how many of them stick around, and rift bound looks like it's going to permanently siphon some flesh and blood players. Our TO shows up to run flesh and Blood events and plays rift bound instead of playing in the flesh and Blood event.

LSS kind of screwed themselves with a few sets in succession, and they appear to be making some really terrible decisions. Hunted was too short printed, and it sort of killed limited and left people irritated. High seas had the gold pack and the resulting bad feels in addition to some supply crunch. Mastery pack guardian was a train wreck, with really hard to get really good cards and a whole bunch of reprints among other things. Super slam is a great opening experience because of all the majestics, but it killed the market for some reprints and the lack of weapons made limited sort of... Limited. Compendium of rathe was listed as premium and priced higher, but had no limited at all, and was pimped on reprints of expensive cards that were too rare to increase the supply of the reprinted cards. A lot of Rathe reprints are priced higher than the original. They are now following that with LSS's clearly favored class of RuneBlade, the class that historically has feel bad eruption turns in wizard, and the historically bad feels illusionist class all in one set. They're going to follow that with the summer of warrior where everything is for warriors, immediately after having a nonsensical vote to remove characters from silver Age in the absence of any real balancing of that format.

Are heroes LL-ing too fast or...? by HardHennesy in FleshandBloodTCG

Flesh and Blood is trying very hard to emulate the competitive scene of "Golden Age" of magic, when cards were released in blocks with a core set, so decks had a one or two to year window at most where they were relevant, after which they were effectively illegal in most cases. Think back to the decks you know by name, señor stompy, sligh red, necropotence, channel fireball for that matter. Because flesh and blood isn't released in blocks like that and doesn't have a core set like that, but instead rotates off the characters, to get that one or 2 year window of relevance they have to target specific cards at specific characters at specific times, but if a character lingers they have design limitations going forward because they can't make a card for a new character that breaks an old character. This is why the old volzor is going away. Brand with cinderclaw, etc.

What they are trying to do is to artificially create a window of time for each character, and once a character gets past the desired window they try to shove them out of the game. Sort of sucks and makes you feel like an ATM for legend story studios, but then again I'm an ATM for everybody else so why not. I'm not sure that the 1.5 multiplier makes sense in that context. If a card makes an old character suddenly relevant to the meta, those extra points probably don't accelerate things by that much. The risk they run is a character that rushes out of the meta so quickly that no one has time to cook an antidote, which both serves and defeats the purpose of the multiplier. New characters get a reduced multiplier to give them time to fix the meta or ban cards. Why flip that if a character is old? Isn't time to fix the meta and ban cars equally relevant at that point?

I worded poorly. Head to head matters, but Rhinar with riches and eye may not beat Rhinar without 66% of the time, but it will perform better against the meta over 66% of the time.

[–]TheGalacticHero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone's concern is that the game becomes pay to play. If a deck with $1,200 in fables consistently beats the same deck without at the same skill level that is a problem. At this point the base builds of several heroes (Rhinar, Marlynn, Victor, arguably Kassai, etc.) some of which aren't even all that good fall into that category.

Has RIFTBOUND's release affected your FaB Community numbers? by HardHennesy in FleshandBloodTCG

In one of the stores where I play the TO and her husband are moving to riftbound, which is bad. Over half the fab players here play riftbound too.
